0:00Name That Tune With Tommy Borum
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for hosting Ian, and I see Tommy down there. I have never heard this song before, I'm so sorry.
Ian MalcolmNo, don't be sorry.
@joann_marieCan I call a friend?
Ian MalcolmYou can absolutely phone a friend, or we can go to the Purple Pill and poll the audience if anybody wants to throw up a guess. I see Mandy's throwing the thumbs down, JoAnn, so not sure if she's going to be able to help you on that one.
@joann_marieI'm going to ask Tommy. Maybe Tommy knows. Tommy, can you guess this tune? Or maybe he's...
@tommyborumjokesI just jumped in. If you could, I mean, play it again. I'll try.
Ian MalcolmWell, let's see. We got something in the purple pill. Not sure if that was you, JoAnn, but if not, give me just a second. So can you name this tune, Tommy?
@g0dfr0yNot yet, I can't.
Ian MalcolmGet a little audio interlude here.
@g0dfr0yIs that Dave Matthews band?
Ian MalcolmIt is Tommy! Well done! That is it, JoAnn. That was going to be the hint. I was going to throw out that that very, very prominent, I guess you'd call him an acoustic musician. So JoAnn, one of the few and the early to stand up with a Free Palestine sign at his concert in front of roughly 60,000 people. Dave Matthews
Ian MalcolmGodfroy, Raed Jamal, Tommy Borum, Godfroy, Raed Jamal
Ian MalcolmI don't want to call it a newer song. He's probably maybe 10 years old or so, but certainly not from the heyday of his prime albums there. But speaking of which, so Tommy, this is going to be a lot of fun because JoAnn and I originally had a conversation scheduled for our normal window. Then we were excited, hey, we're going to get to have a comedy show that will essentially precede that.
Ian MalcolmAnd then also had the chance to speak with Dr. Simon Goddick, as well as Vicky Richter, international journalist who spent a lot of time in Brazil. So we are coming on the heels of 90 minutes of very, let's say, serious matters. And now we're going to be able to balance that out with what I think should be a whole lot of fun and a lot of humor.
Ian MalcolmAnd it was really interesting because as we shared the announcement on this space and in this discourse, had lots of different people, oh, I just saw this, that, or the other thing from Tommy. So a lot of excitement. Thank you so much for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesyeah so i appreciate the time um like many comedians i do have an insurance sales background now typically they do it the other way around where they end up failing and going into insurance sales i came out of it um i was a headhunter and still am by trade work with private manufacturers to help them find you know key sales and marketing executives so that's how i pay bills but i started doing uh open mics in 2016.
4:58Comedy Origins and Jester's Privilege
@tommyborumjokesI've been writing comedy all through, you know, my college years. I thought that I might have a future in it. And so I just used it as like a creative exercise every day. I'd sit down and just write jokes about the news. I would watch things like John Oliver's, you know, a weekend show or, you know, you watch the weekend update at SNL.
@tommyborumjokesAnd I had always thought like, man, I should be doing that. These are jokes that I'm thinking of throughout the day when I'm in classes and should be taking notes and paying attention. Instead, I'm... Thank you so much for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesIf someone doesn't laugh, they just think it was a bad joke. They don't think that you're like an evil person. And so I loved and fell in love with the jester's privilege of being able to say what you really think and what you really feel, but in a way that is palatable, in a way that's consumable, so that people don't get their hackles up.
@tommyborumjokesThey're not angry with you. And instead, they're cheersing with you at the end of the night going like, hey, that was pretty funny. I can see how you'd get there. And also you have to realize like I'm at the time a white guy in my mid-20s, young 20s. Now I'm 33. I don't want anyone to think I'm a Freemason when I say that.
@tommyborumjokesI'm anxious to turn 34 in a month. But I would recognize that people will give you a break or give you some space to say some things that the internet at the time would never and that social media at the time would never. And so it was in I think 2018 at the very beginning of the year. I had been told by one of the local clubs, I'm from West Michigan, Dr. Grins in Grand Rapids, one of the people who ran the shows just told me after one of the sets that I'm not welcome anymore.
7:23Banned in West Michigan for Comedy
@tommyborumjokesI was not welcome to perform there anymore after one specific set. And it was a set that I had run a couple times. It wasn't like it was all new material I was working out. And so I kind of took that to heart and said, OK, if you're going to try to throw me off stage and make sure that I'm unable to perform here in the only big town in West Michigan that they have a comedy club in, you know, if I have to drive an hour to go to Kalamazoo and come back at two in the morning reeking like a bar, then maybe the stand up in West Michigan is not going to be enough.
@tommyborumjokesSo I went and did some traveling after, you know, a couple of some interesting losses personally. I threw my stuff in a van, went to Austin, Texas, did the mic circuit there for the end of 2024 through the summer and fall of 2024 into the spring of 2025. Tried the Kill Tony deal. I never got my name pulled onto the bucket, but I've always done live streams and podcasted comedy, I would say it is.
@tommyborumjokesSo like in 2020 during COVID when no shows were happening and you couldn't find an open mic, let alone any kind of organized show to get on. I threw together my own live stream, started talking about the news in a way that I thought was both interesting and relevant and also funny. Like I would take, you know, a news story from the previous couple of weeks.
8:45Online Comedy and Predicting the News
@tommyborumjokesAnd as I talked about it when it was contemporaneous and ongoing, I would then harken back to it in the following weeks and say, remember, we talked about this. We predicted this next thing would come. We predicted this next thing was going to happen. And sure enough, it would. And so I think my profile now says, you know, comedian, writer.
@tommyborumjokesHeadhunter, Psychic Retard, and I mean all of these things. But I've predicted a few things that have happened, notably my pinned post on Charlie Kirk's assassination. And so that is essentially in a nutshell where I'm coming from and why you keep seeing me pop up in your feed, if you do. And if you don't, follow because you ought to.
@tommyborumjokesI mean, hello, you're going to miss the news in the future if you don't see it today from me.
Ian MalcolmNo, and just looking at, and you know what's wild? The pinned tweet that I had previously liked, that the like no longer appears on it because these are the pieces that you're not allowed to discuss. If you do, they've got all kinds of other algorithmic control and suppression that minimizes the perceived affinity for it.
Ian MalcolmAnd I bring that up, Tommy, because it's kind of curious. You're talking about this idea that in... Thank you for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I think so. And, you know, I think I got to give credit where credit's due. There are a lot of people who try stand up and they will say some off the wall shit intentionally just to maybe be edgier because they think it's funny. And, you know, credit to all of those people who try, you know, and and I'd like to think, you know, that I would be included in that.
@tommyborumjokesBut I think that the Internet is a I think it's a better space. I mean, frankly, if I'm going to call myself a comedian at all, I like I would I would jokingly say I'm a sit down comedian. I would prefer to sit at the desk. All of these places, you'll see that they set up like a mic in the corner on like a little tiny stage in an Italian restaurant.
@tommyborumjokesAnd so they'll have a TV playing, you know, whatever game. They'll have, you know, other things ongoing that I think are distractions from the crowd. And really, I mean,
@tommyborumjokesMaybe it's just me making excuses, but I think the online space might just be a better venue for people actually being able to make jokes about what they really think and describe the world in a way that actually resonates with the people in reality. You can't go and do 20 or 30 minutes on why it's always the Jews pretending to be Muslims when they attack people.
@tommyborumjokesAnd then you cannot do the whole Muslim season, Jew season, and then expect to get called back. So for an example in Grand Rapids, that's pretty much what happened. And you can see now how Michigan has turned and become very Islamified. But that's my take on it is I think people have a little bit more freedom when they're online to do and say these things.
@tommyborumjokesAnd so long as you're doing it with your face and your voice and your name attached, then you can... Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmHe talks about how somebody is starving on the streets while somebody else is walking by about to go eat out at some fancy restaurant, right? I'm kind of curious, when you think of the division there, whether it is the kind of anti-Islam sentiments that obviously the usual suspects are now fomenting, whether it is the idea of the person that's out on the street or the guy going to the five-star restaurant, where do you feel that your, I guess, humor and your worldviews
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesThe reality is that that's what I believe. So if people are saying things out of true hate and actually despise a group of people or a shade of race or whatever, then I think people hear that, they read that in and whatever you're saying is taken with like a little bit of pithy, salty, it's a little bit spiteful. And instead, if you approach things and individuals with a little bit more kindness, a little bit more grace,
@tommyborumjokesand then be mocking the things that they would also mock about their own groups and their own cultures and their own family members, then it helps. So I'm very critical of the Jews, but I think we all understand that when we say Jews, at least I am referring to like global Zionists and the Jewishness of it all. If you were to distill what is Talmudic Jewishness, it comes down to a state of Israel.
@tommyborumjokesAnd that's not something anyone would want to support when they see it for what it is.
@tommyborumjokesMy buddy and I years ago would take, when it was like first out, ChatGPT had like their app and you could download it and you could use the free version. We would just, you know, I do Holocaust math. We, you know, we'd take a car ride and we'd be asking it like, okay, so exactly what about the ovens? How many people could you put in there?
15:23ChatGPT and Holocaust Math
@tommyborumjokesAnd then how many people did they claim? And then let's walk it back. And you'd have the ChatGPT say, hang on a second. And you'd be thinking, and then like a different voice would come on and it would say, I'm sorry, I can't talk about that. Can we change topics and talk about something else? And I can put you in touch with the guy who's the witness to hear that.
@tommyborumjokesWe laughed out loud. He pulled a GoPro out, recorded it. It was like, it's almost like chat GPT had to go talk to a manager. So getting back to your question, I think if you try to resonate within the individual who is actually hearing you and listening to you, that goes a long way. If someone just goes off on a rant and they want to, you know,
@tommyborumjokesI don't know if that answers your question.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesYou let people laugh because they understand the joke within that you're actually getting at. Andre Williams is another person who I don't think you would ever call himself a comedian, but that dude is hilarious. And he's doing something similar. You know, he's talking about the difference between black people, niggas and niggers.
@tommyborumjokesAnd he outlined it on Piers Morgan a week and a half ago. It makes me think of like, again, going back to Kalamazoo. Thank you for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesAnd at the end of the night, the guy at the bar, the bartender, also black, is going to tell you how funny it was that he thought the lawn chair on the roof is the only way that you know the black guy lives in your neighborhood. Otherwise, they're not outside. They're not messing with the whites in the neighborhood. The only black house in the neighborhood of mine growing up, we wouldn't have known but for the fact that the kids got on that stop on the bus.
@tommyborumjokesThank you so much for joining us.
20:12Ragtime, Cointelpro, and Cultural Humor
@tommyborumjokesThe first four letters in the word Cointelpro are C-O-I-N, coin. So like, of course, that's going to draw their attention. And, you know, I think when you say things that way, the individual goes, oh, he's not attacking me. He's making fun of things in a way that are acceptable for everyone to laugh at. And then that's kind of where you go.
@tommyborumjokesIf people can't laugh at themselves or laugh at the group they come from, then, you know, they're just humorless dregs. If I can plug anything, I'll tell you, I interviewed yesterday again for the second time. Kylan, he's at Foundering One. He's the ragtime pianist who does all the very, very racy songs. But he does so with absolute passion and love for the format and for the art.
@tommyborumjokesYou know, this is a guy who doesn't hate a single group of people ever. And if you talk to him for five seconds, you'd know. He's just an all around good guy and an artist and a creative, but he loves the ragtime pieces. And they were all written by Black people mocking the place in society that they took at the turn of the century after the 1800s.
@tommyborumjokesThey were laughing about how they were this certain group of people and they had to strive to become a little bit better. And they would say, oh, we're throwing a party around tonight and the white trash people can't come. and all the white people would laugh and the black people would laugh and people don't necessarily know that.
@tommyborumjokesSo that's the kind of the approach or maybe the perspective that I have on that is there are contemporaries, there are people kind of poking fun at the egos of people groups like I am, but without offending the individuals who may have yesterday associated themselves with it. Like I would never think that a person who's Jewish today just sitting on a bus has to forever be locked into
@tommyborumjokesI don't know if that makes sense
Ian MalcolmIt makes absolute sense. And the challenge there is, again, the idea of security. And this actually, it goes to a larger thought that I have around the means of control of, let's just call it the power structure loosely. Because when they make everybody insecure, people aren't able to laugh at themselves. They're also constantly kind of protecting their interests.
Ian MalcolmAnd you can see how that kind of removes the not only high trust society aspects, but also just the willingness for people to be able to connect across any I'm curious what the reception and the reaction is
@tommyborumjokesMan, that ain't funny. They'll get upset. They'll hiss at you or dry their teeth. But what they won't do is typically throw a tantrum or throw a glass. That I have not had happen. I'm sure it does. Not for me. Here, I'm going to hit the accept co-host. Sorry, I didn't see that before. But yeah, I've noticed that the Jewish people, and not that everyone walks in with a sign on their head that says, I'm Jewish, but you can imagine you can tell some of them out of a crowd.
@tommyborumjokesThose folks will cackle and laugh, you know, to no end when you're making fun of every other group but theirs. And so for them, I don't know if they're, you know, just a little bit soft or if it's like the lost cause of it, where it's like, you know, we're untouchable. You can't make fun of me. But I mean, there are people who, you know, embody the Grappler meme and they do exist.
@tommyborumjokesYou know, the... The Happy Merchant Rubbing His Hands Together. Oh, this is what I was going to say before. You know, I had done for years like a tabletop podcast where I just thought I'd interview interesting political guests and anyone in pop culture that would respond to an email or to a request. And so in 2024, as we saw the rise of anti-Semitism on X and we saw Elon Musk being called a Nazi and all these other things, I had reached out to the attorney at law
@tommyborumjokesI think part of the Harmeet Dhillon Law Group, which tells you kind of his perspective and where he's really coming from. Ron Coleman. And I just went in with palms up language, very soft, asking, hey, hoping you can explain this to me. You know, hoping you might be able to enlighten me. Why is it that we're seeing so much, we're saying anti-Semitism, but let's say criticism of the state of Israel and of Jewish people and of the culture?
@tommyborumjokesWhy is it that when someone goes to buy a copy of the abridged Talmud at Barnes & Noble, they flip through it and in disgust, toss it into a fire and wish it were you? Why, Ron, is that happening? And he even admitted he has a family member who looks like a spitting image of the happy merchant. And he was laughing along too.
@tommyborumjokesHe understands, or at least did, that there is a quality of humor within it. And if we don't talk about it,
@tommyborumjokesAmong other things, a way to have a high trust society. It used to be that way. I believe it can be again. And I'd love for it to be a Christian nation, frankly. That's just my bias. I think that's historically accurate. But beyond those things, what we can do today is to make light of the things that would otherwise be divisive, the things that would otherwise drive me to not like her and for her to not like me.
@tommyborumjokesInstead, I would think like, if I make a joke first about how I go to Catholic Mass, and as I'm coming home on Sunday from church, if she says, hey, where have you been? And I say, oh, I was just out at Mass. Yeah, the snacks were terrible today. She'll get that that's a joke about the Eucharist just being a wafer and being flavorless.
@tommyborumjokesShe'll understand that there's host wine that doesn't probably taste all that great after a little bit of backwash from the rest of the congregation. But making light of the things that are close to you first lets them know that And I think they certainly do. And that's one of the things that I think is really critical.
@tommyborumjokesAnd Tommy, I'd be curious for your thoughts on how your persona and the delivery
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThe somewhat cold contrarian. I'm kind of curious for your stage presence.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, so I think in these things that I do online, I think it's a little bit more cool or not cool in the sense of rad, but cool in the sense of cool, cold, calculated. On stage, it's a little different because you almost want to just be agreeable and likable first. No one's going to want to laugh at something you say, even if it is funny, if they don't like you.
@tommyborumjokesAnd then getting them to do that anyway if they don't like you is a lot tougher. And it can be a fun challenge, but I think, frankly, one of the people I shouldn't say idolized, but one of the comedic heroes of mine is Norm Macdonald. And I don't think he ever went on stage and was angry or frustrated. He never had a rant like Louis Black, where it's like, oh, yeah, I agree with you politically, so I'll clap and have laughter.
@tommyborumjokesIt's laughter that you don't want. So he would go up and say things Norm would.
@tommyborumjokesMore like silly things and act like a know-it-all, but by saying them and they are true, no one can be mad at you. And that's kind of how I approach live performance. That's kind of how I approach the show that I do when I'm doing a podcast and my face is on the screen. I try to be more jovial because the show that I run and was started in 2020 called The Float Show, the idea was just simply during COVID, people feel like they're sinking.
@tommyborumjokesPeople feel like financially they're drowning. People feel like the country is going under. And so my goal was just to keep people afloat, to keep the country afloat, to keep America itself afloat. And I used to have this little tagline. Sometimes we'll still throw it in. You got to keep your head above the ocean of bullshit, the sea of insanity, the riptide of retardation, and just help keep America afloat.
@tommyborumjokesAnd if people as individuals, as citizens are doing that, and they're laughing at the news instead of crying about it, taking it seriously, instead of watching Fox News, they can be mocking CNN. Like then we're at least kind of getting somewhere. And you can survive your day a lot better. You can go to work the next day and feel a little bit better about trying to be productive.
@tommyborumjokesAs far as my posts on X, particularly, because that's really the only platform that I populate, I'll put clips and stuff on TikTok and Instagram and that, but I'll use X to write and to have that exercise of writing and posting. Some of those things are more approached like a headstrong, know-it-all, I know this. That's part of why I say I'm a psychic retard.
@tommyborumjokesI'm going to call the shot. It's going to happen this way. I'll say it as if it is a fact. It's already sold because nine times out of 10, that's what ends up happening. And that is, I think, a little bit of discernment, a little bit of awareness of what's going on. I won't speak to things I don't actually know, which is helpful.
@tommyborumjokesI'm not going to go predict the NFL outcome this coming Sunday. Wouldn't give a shit. But I think... I don't know if that's a decent enough answer. I think I try to play kind of both sides of being super serious in some cases, and then just kind of silly, lighthearted, jovial, friendly. I'll be sincere and say to anyone who wants to connect or interact, I'm here.
@tommyborumjokesMy DMs are wide open. If someone has something interesting that they think the world ought to know, share it with me first. I'll tell you what I think of it. I'm an open book and transparent that way. because I'm never going to lie to you. This is another thing. I'll throw another comedian a huge bouquet of flowers. Owen Benjamin is someone I also look up to, thankfully still living.
@tommyborumjokesOwen Benjamin's tag, his whole mantra is, I might be wrong, but I'm not lying. And when I think during COVID, watching some of the streams that he would put up or just after COVID, knowing that, hey, occasionally Owen's going to get something wrong or something that I disagree with him on, But I don't have to be offended by that.
@tommyborumjokesI don't have to write him off and go, oh, he was wrong on that, so now I can't trust anything else he says. Because the dude is honest. And I think when you realize it doesn't help to go on stage and say something you don't actually believe. It never does you any good to, in a stream, say something you don't really think or believe.
@tommyborumjokesIt's a lot easier to keep everything straight when you don't have to try to remember a lie or a punchline that you didn't really... You know, have buy-in in to begin with. Back to the Norm Macdonald piece, you know, he had said, if you believe something that is funny, if you write a joke and you actually believe that it's funny, then you commit to it.
@tommyborumjokesAnd it doesn't matter if the crowd buys it this time or the next time. You keep bombing until they get it, until they laugh. And you could see this in his activity on the Weekend Update. And I think people kind of recognize that in my profile. Not that I'm trying to make the comparison, but that is an homage too. Like that I'll make a post and sometimes they don't blow up at all.
@tommyborumjokesSometimes people are like, how dare you? Like this past week, in the last seven days, when I debated Andrew Wilson on Tuesday and the initial reaction from the bots in the chat were, oh my God, he's killing you. It has quickly turned over the past week, seeing the full reaction and clips. to now, uh-oh, Anders is exposing himself as maybe being gay with Jack Neill, like on the latest clips where I was just watching in 20 minutes, 30 minutes ago.
34:52Debating Andrew Wilson and Charlie Kirk
@tommyborumjokesHe's making the argument against why men should never marry women and why maybe gays with surrogates is the way to go. It's very strange. So I think if you just continue to hold your own, you're smiling, you're having a good time, that the happiest and I should say the person who has the best time is the winner in any outcome, in any interaction.
@tommyborumjokesSo I like to try to make sure that I'm having a good time. I had posted, this is kind of tying it all together. Andrew Wilson was supposed to debate Owen Benjamin. Andrew Wilson was supposed to debate Owen Benjamin. I think it was on 9-11 of 2025, if not on 9-10 of 2025. And when Charlie was assassinated, Andrew Wilson reached out to Owen and said, hey, hey, man, I don't think that just happened.
@tommyborumjokesI don't think we should do this. And so Owen said, okay, great, we'll reschedule. And guess who never rescheduled his debate? After smearing and slandering Owen, Andrew has never had that debate. And so one of the things I had posted this past week was Andrew Wilson killed Charlie Kirk just to get out of his debate with Owen.
@tommyborumjokesAnd you could see the initial reaction was, how dare you? Fuck you. This is evil. This is not funny. But of course, the numbers turn after a couple of days and people realize like, oh, this is... Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThe Ben Shapiro aspects of it. And I'll never forget his attempt to be clever with the comment around, I'll pick up the bloody microphone. It was just, well, it was bloody infuriating to use the term from the English, I suppose. But so Tommy, on that, you're mentioning Owen Benjamin. When you were growing up, because you mentioned that you had seen standup comics, you saw the Daily Show and similar, and you thought that's something that prospectively I'd be interested in trying to do.
Ian MalcolmWho were, when you were younger, The comedians that kind of called to you, whether it was those doing stand-up or those on the silver screen, I guess they'd call it.
@tommyborumjokesI can remember the first time a buddy showed me, like when you're a little kid in elementary school and your mom says, hey, so-and-so's mom called and asked if you want to go play after school. And you're like, okay, yeah, sure. Set it up, mom. By the way, I wish mom could still be an agent for me because she would have more dates set for me than I can myself.
@tommyborumjokesBut I had gone to a buddy's house. and he was just like you know a little spastic a little like too energetic and so i was like great maybe you can help me beat pokemon like you know this is might be worthwhile and he pulls out a cd or maybe it was a record and and puts it on in his room and we're listening to bill cosby doing a bit about corduroys how it goes as you're running as a child wearing corduroy pants playing ball in an alley and i remember thinking like how is the crowd dying laughing at this it's funny enough but like i'm a kid
@tommyborumjokesI play touch football or tackle football at recess. I don't know that anyone's worn corduroy pants. And so I always thought the old comedians were kind of strange to the point of being maybe propped up. None of their stuff seemed all that funny. And as a child, obviously, that might fit with the childlike thinking of like, this isn't for me.
@tommyborumjokesThis is an adult. Um, but growing up then and being like in high school, watching SNL, you know, every weekend thinking like, you know, I'll make a batch of popcorn. And then when SNL comes on, I'm going to watch that. And then I'll know all the jokes for Monday. And you know, I, I was, um, I was, I was voted a couple of different superlatives in high school.
@tommyborumjokesOne was a best hair. And then the other one was most likely to turn a teacher's hair gray. And so now I have both, I have gray hair and it still looks nice, but The teachers who had to put up with me would know I'm not actually talking back in a nasty argumentative way. I would just be making little comments, little offhanded comments.
@tommyborumjokesIf they missed, you're counting out five pages to hand out to a row and instead you hand me four. Just little dumb things that would come up in a classroom that I guess I'm having a hard time thinking of something that would be funny to harken back to. If a teacher knew like, I'm never in detention. I've never been suspended.
@tommyborumjokesI was a good kid. I had straight A's. But I also gave them shit like a class clown would. That was fun for me. I like to be able to get the adults to realize like, oh, this guy, this kid's smart, actually. And so they would like smile while they would say like, hey, please stop, instead of being actually angry. Growing up that way, looking at a bunch of different comedians and seeing again, like, you know, Louis Black comes to mind as someone who's objectively funny.
@tommyborumjokesHe's an objectively funny guy, but it was never my style. Getting in front of an audience or in front of a camera and ranting and raving and throwing a pen and pretending you're angry, that was less appealing because it made people feel like when they're leaving, when that's off and he's done, he can go back and do whatever he wants in his life.
@tommyborumjokesThe audience just got told what they should be angry about. I wanted to do things the opposite way.
@tommyborumjokesNo shame to him, but my thought was I want to make people feel more uplifted, more enlightened, literally. I want to feel like maybe that they leave feeling more positive. That like, oh, thank God someone said that thing that I've been afraid to say and maybe even guilty for thinking. If someone goes to work all week long and they're thinking this thing about the news and they're like, yeah, I don't know if I should even say it.
40:52Comedy As Uplifting Truth Telling
@tommyborumjokesI don't want to be labeled. I don't want to be called this. And then they see on Friday night, someone is willing to say it, say it loudly and with a big shit-eating grin on their face. Like then that makes them feel like, okay, it's actually a little bit safer that I was thinking that the whole time. And the next time they hear it, they'll laugh out loud.
@tommyborumjokesAnd then the next time they hear it, they'll share it with a neighbor. And that is, I think, how we kind of turn the tide. So for as much hammering on news and sharing headlines that we can be doing, it's also critical to be like,
@tommyborumjokesI love that, Tommy.
Ian MalcolmAnd that idea of positivity, I think, is extremely important and relevant, especially today amidst all the slop and just the continuous demoralizing kind of train that we get of content that comes out, whether it's movie after movie or voice after voice. Speaking of which, Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmElizabeth, we'll go to a Q&A at a little point, but let's not interrupt, Tommy, please.
@tommyborumjokesTotally. And Elizabeth, love to hear that later on. I think, frankly, like I said before, if you're able to make people laugh at something that they don't necessarily want to laugh at or that they might be hiding that they maybe do agree or at least that they get it, they might not even wholly agree with the point of what you're saying.
@tommyborumjokesYou know, that's part of it. I think the other thing is not to be so preachy when you are on stage performing. A lot of these things should just be, you know, teasing out truths that are hidden, you know, like the definition of comedy being the revelation of a hidden truth. So when people understand like, oh, you know what, that would be a dead giveaway that the black neighborhood, you know, has been gentrified by the white neighborhood when all the houses are being rebuilt and renovated and that you can buy a house for a steal.
@tommyborumjokesAnd then when the black family does move back into the white neighborhood, you can tell when that happens too, because you can see the fence doesn't get painted anymore. The lawn's not cut and the lawn chair is now on the roof. And so, you know, they know they get it and they'll laugh or they won't, but people at least understand, like, you know, there's an attempt being made and you're not attempting to like hurt anyone individually on their feelings, but you are trying to encourage the thought of, huh.
@tommyborumjokesPeople can go back and watch the shows because I have them all on YouTube and Rumble and X and Pilled and even some on Odyssey. But I never am trying to be like angry and force a point and drive a narrative home. It's just commentary on what is already going on. I am powerless in the situation. I have zero power in the United States.
@tommyborumjokesSo everything I'm talking about is out of my control. I can only either get mad at it or laugh at it. And so I'm just choosing to laugh at it and I'm asking other people to come along and also laugh at whatever we're looking at. And often enough, I think it's pretty good.
Ian MalcolmI love that. And it's kind of so a question again, I always my brain always goes to weird comparisons sometimes in film. And that idea of I can either get mad or I can laugh about it. I'm kind of curious, Tommy, do you ever find yourself likening to perhaps the Joker in the rendition presented by Joaquin Phoenix at the end of the film?
Ian MalcolmThank you very much.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmI think it was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, right? That were in that world. So I'm kind of curious if you ever feel kind of along those lines, or is there maybe a different visualization that you would have at that idea of either getting upset about something or finding comedy in it?
@tommyborumjokesWell, you know what? I can answer the other question that you asked also, because I don't think I even gave you a proper answer. You'd asked what my ray of light is. I am Catholic, so I do let people know that I have a foundation, a basis of faith. And I know that this is a fallen world. I believe that we're not necessarily meant for it.
@tommyborumjokesAnd that the sin that we live in and see among us is not what we're asked to be in or called to be in. So for that, I think like, hey, we can always do better. We can always be doing better. So when you're looking at the news or you're looking at politics, geopolitics, pop culture, anything that is meant to just be tearing at your soul, the best way to rebuke it is to mock it.
@tommyborumjokesAnd I don't want to make a dumb analogy, but to a movie, hey, you went to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first, so I'm going to go to Harry Potter. They have the little Boggart or the Bogart or whatever it is that's hiding in the wardrobe. And that thing is terrifying and it freaks the kids out. And as you're, you know, it changes what it is.
@tommyborumjokesIt's a shape-shifting little demon. And the only way to dispel it and to disarm it is to laugh at it. So like before you even want to think about making fun of something for being wrong, I used to say that the worst thing about going to school today for a child is that they go to school, they say the wrong thing. They come back the opposite gender at their, you know, the request of their teacher.
@tommyborumjokesWhereas when I was a kid, the worst thing I ever had to hear is,
@tommyborumjokesBut that is ultimately the goal.
Ian MalcolmI love that. And Harry Potter, there's a lot to take from that because there's a lot of kind of archetypical aspects of both the heroes and the villains in that. It'll be very curious to see how they are going to do the new HBO rendition. Actually, Tommy, this may be a funny one. I'd be curious for your thoughts on speaking of strange aspects of the world.
Ian MalcolmSo they're remaking Harry Potter as a HBO extended series. And the character that they chose to cast to do the kind of race swapping that often Hollywood is now doing, of all people, was to take Snape, who obviously Harry Potter thinks is the villain for the large majority of the story, to make him the black person. Tommy, do you have any thoughts on the reality that now, because they've done that,
Ian MalcolmHarry Potter is just going to have this innate discomfort around this whole black character in this show. I don't know why HBO decided to go that direction.
@tommyborumjokesIt's even worse than just Harry being a racist. Now his dad and all their friends are racists because Severus Snape, as you recall in the books, he was described as being a lanky, kind of awkward, gaudy kid who had sallow skin and greasy hair. And so now they're going to have to show a young black Severus Snape with ugly, greasy hair, super lanky and being hanged out in a tree.
@tommyborumjokesSo instead of just like, you know, strapping, you know, the young Severus Snape up in a tree with his bags and things, tying them up and and stick them up there so that he couldn't get down. Now it's going to look like an attempt at a lynching.
@joann_marieThey also mainly mixed, and in the books they call them mudbloods, so that's going to be crazy.
@tommyborumjokesWell, that was pretty fair. I think we have a different definition today for what mudbloods are. Obviously, I'm just joking when I say that. But you know what? They're not muggles anyways. The Jews in Harry Potter were the goblins, I'm pretty sure. They serviced the bank, and they had the hooked noses and the gangly fingers, and it was all very on the nose.
53:11Harry Potter and Gringotts Goblins
Ian MalcolmJoAnn, I think it was you who shared the picture of the flooring in the bank, right?
@joann_marieIt was. It has the star of Rembrandt in Gringotts.
Ian MalcolmI can't believe that they did that.
@tommyborumjokesIt's so over the top. Yeah, and of course, at Gringotts, they have a secret dragon hidden underneath the floor, just like Israel has secret nukes that they constantly threaten, but no one's ever seen them before. It's a little bit more than just like a mirror. It's like J.K. Rowling must have traced geopolitics into that book series.
Ian MalcolmYou know, and her, I can't figure out. I don't know if you've seen this, Tommy, but the thing I find so odd is Obviously, she came out very much antagonizing the trans movement, and yet she has a tattoo on her wrist that is the same inscription that is linked to the Baphomet, which is that idea of coagulating and so as above is below or something to that extent it translates to.
Ian MalcolmI just look at it and I... I can't figure out if that's just the strangest coincidence imaginable or if it's part of this entire kind of Holly weird spell that they use the wood of the Holly tree, the Holly wood, to kind of keep everybody mystified. Because she is a very peculiar, very strange character in that regard with her political allegiances.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I don't know. I don't know enough about Jake. I've never met her. I've never talked to her. But I've seen some of her posts, obviously. J.K. Rowling seems like she's at least an intelligent lady, obviously, for her writing the book. Now, it could be books. It could be that some actual wizard just came and tapped her on the head with a wand and put that story in her head, and then she went to work on a typewriter with it.
@tommyborumjokesBut I would be more likely to believe that she had a good fantasy story and began to adopt things from real life within it to build out a universe that made sense. I don't know if that tattoo is something that she is familiar with. I'm not familiar with her having it, so I probably shouldn't speak to it besides saying that if J.K. Rowling wants to send me some pics, I'd be into it.
Ian MalcolmYeah, I just put that up into, or at least I tried to put it up into the nest. Solve Coagula is the tattoo that she has on her, I guess it's her right inner wrist. The infamous motto of the Satanic Baphomet. which means to dissolve and to coagulate in Latin or otherwise to mix up is a good way to think about that. And so it's very, and this is what makes Hollywood so bizarre.
Ian MalcolmAnd Tommy, I'd be curious for your thoughts on it because it feels like the medium that you're swimming in, whether it's humor at a localized level or of course the big Hollywood kind of blockbusters, that there's always this weird infusion where Part of it is for entertainment and part of it is to push either an agenda or a message or to do something else with the psyche.
Ian MalcolmAnd I really, I see something like the JK Rowling, the tattoo piece. And again, when I first saw it, I was like, this has to be just, you know, the conspiracy theory of like the Loch Ness Monster. There's no way that this tattoo is actually real. And then you look and you see there's a whole bunch of photographs of it.
Ian MalcolmAnd it's like, well, that's... Thank you so much for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesI think maybe Hollywood has served its purpose and is done in terms of what they can get out of it. We talk about in COVID, they pushed hard all the propaganda. They still allowed some of the Hollywood stuff to continue, but people fell out of grace with it really quickly. They stopped paying attention. They actually began to hate Hollywood.
@tommyborumjokesThey started to see it for what it was. And so I think maybe, you know,
58:18Hollywood's Co-optation and Jester's Privilege
@tommyborumjokesWe've seen Hollywood be manipulated and then hijacked and then fully co-opted and taken over in the time that Americans have thought of anything to do on their screen with entertainment. It wasn't always that way. There were film studios that were not owned and operated by Jews. There had been one that they started in New York.
@tommyborumjokesThey were unable to get any kind of real work within the big agencies, within the big studios. So they went West and they
@tommyborumjokesThank you so much for joining us.
Ian Malcolmto kind of get around not just the censorship, but that traditionally all of those microphones were essentially handed out, at least in my worldview, to the people that were going to participate in their game. And now because of things like this platform, right, they've essentially democratized to some extent as suppressed and heavily censored as we are.
Ian MalcolmIn fact, Bryce, who was up here on the panel with us a little while ago, I sent him a mic request because he often joins our spaces. I had to send a message to JoAnn because he had been removed from the space, and I'm pretty certain it wasn't either you or JoAnn or myself. He had been removed from the space multiple times.
Ian MalcolmAnd so I say it because obviously they are doing all kinds of things to try to minimize our ability to just have an impact on the zeitgeist, whether it is minimizing the visibility of our spaces, in this case, seemingly removing somebody from them. Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmAre we going to see essentially a renaissance because people like yourself that Hollywood might not want to give a microphone to, because of this technology, they don't really have the ability to shut you down?
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I think the most that they can do is try to steer people back towards their, you know, owned IP. You know, you're never going to see, you know, me on Netflix, I don't think. Although, you know, make me a better deal and maybe. But I don't think you're going to see a lot of people...
@tommyborumjokesThank you so much for joining us.
@tommyborumjokesYou know, like flat earth and how the moon is actually in our atmosphere and things like this just to throw people off so that no one can ever claim that he's saying something else also in full sincerity. So it is that like jester's privilege that you'll hear about where, you know, someone can get away with saying something that you couldn't say because you say things and they want to take you seriously and pin you to your words.
1:03:32Jester's Privilege in Comedy
@tommyborumjokesBut when I say, you know, Andrew Wilson killed Charlie Kirk to get out of his debate with Owen Benjamin. No one is going to take that as a literalist. And if they do, then they're being retarded and pedantic. So that's kind of how I would think to navigate that is like, you have to know there is a line and then willingly cross it and then willingly dance on it.
@tommyborumjokesAnd then, you know, play. How many times can I put both my feet on either side of this line as quickly as possible so that people know, oh, that line actually doesn't exist. It's not real. And we should be able to cross it, too.
Ian MalcolmYeah, I love, and there's so many. I could go to the Chappelle show. I could go to his standup. The man, I mean, actually, I'd be curious for your thoughts on this, Tommy, because in my very limited, right, I'd be in no position to try to judge or grade standup comics, right? Because I don't nearly understand enough about the form and what it would mean to be the greatest.
Ian MalcolmBut he's certainly one of the ones that I enjoy the most. And whether it's his This conversation that he had with, oh God, what was his name? Jesse Shmuley. He talked about Jesse Shmuley coming back Tuesday at three o'clock in the morning in Chicago to go out for Subway sandwiches. And he jokes that these men came up to him, these black men, and they were wearing a MAGA hat.
Ian MalcolmAnd Chappelle goes, can you guys find out where Kanye West was that night? He's just in a whole different echelon. But I'd be curious, Tommy, for your thoughts, whether it's Chappelle or so many of these other wonderful comedians, Robin Williams, for example, who do you think that people today I've been given Owen Benjamin his props.
Ian MalcolmI would say absolutely go check out ladle.tv because he does, I think, virtually a daily show. And it's dry, and in some cases it's slapsticky, but it's parody.
@tommyborumjokesof reality. And it's done in a way where you're learning something. It's valuable. It's entertaining. And it is kind of a pressure release. So I would say that's one for sure. Dave Landau is another that I think of. He talks about real things. He has a witty, clever, kind of sardonic, like a little bit of like a shot from out of nowhere, just a boop.
@tommyborumjokesHe will pierce something that you didn't even think. I don't know how to best phrase it. He will have a take on something that you didn't see coming. He'll have a quick-witted response when asked a question on a panel that others would have to sit and write and think of. And a lot of times, you'll see Dave Landau be a guest on Kill Tony or on Story Wars, these other comedy podcasts, where some of his jokes don't land because the audience is not smart enough to get it.
@tommyborumjokesand he's he's referencing something that you'd have to know three things about in order to get the joke he just made but if you do it's it's fucking good and so I would say Dave Landau for sure he has a new special out a half an hour special on Gas Digital so I would check that out that's free on YouTube um and then I again here's one that I don't think people would uh would call a comedian by trade or by nature but he is funny as all hell and this is Shane Cashman
@tommyborumjokesIt's behind me there on the table. Shane Cashman's book, Good Villains, is hilarious. I mean, I don't know if he meant to write it purely as a comedic book, but it's great. Someone who has passed, obviously, Norm Macdonald. He wrote a book called Based on a True Story, a memoir. It's not at all based on a true story. I should say this.
@tommyborumjokesIt's a true story, but it's not at all factual. I mean, at one point he takes a kid who is dying. He takes like a Make-A-Wish kid. and the kid you know his whole thing was he wanted to go watch a taping of SNL and then as soon as he gets there he's like I don't actually give a shit about the show it's terrible what I want to do is go club baby seals and so then Norm has to take him on a trek out into the you know Siberian tundra to go find seals and go club them and that's what the kid wanted to do obviously we can all hear that and go well that's not that's not factual at all but he is you know describing truths of life and so I would say maybe those four to start and then of course as you mentioned like
@tommyborumjokesLeonardo Joanie is hilarious. Anytime you can find a clip of hers, I'm sure you're going to laugh. Ben Bankus is another one who, from I believe Canada, is just funny as all hell. And so those are the people that I would say like, if I was going to tear them, that's kind of the order I would give you. As far as people who I think are worth giving a second or third look to today, if you haven't already, if you don't like them, or if you didn't like a clip from them, keep going, keep watching them because they are funny.
@tommyborumjokesAnd they're honest, they're sincere. What they're saying might be given to you in a kind of funny or glib way, but they're not going to be lying to you.
Ian MalcolmWell, I love that. And especially with Norm Macdonald, I've got to give him all the kudos. And Tommy, I'm curious if you ever watched the compilation of his SNL clips when he was doing the weekend report. and the story behind the OJ Simpson aspects. I'm not sure if you're familiar and if so, if you want to share it with everybody, because I found that so funny.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I have seen probably all of the different compilations. Back when Norm was alive, that would be something I would do. I would sit in my apartment back when I was drinking, I would drink and I would listen and I would just fall in love with and eventually fall asleep to these compilations of Norm Macdonald on Weekend Update or his compilations on
@tommyborumjokesYou know, different friends shows that he would appear on. And it was always of interest. But the particular thing that you're asking about is being approached and told, you know, hey, one of the executives at NBC is really good friends with OJ Simpson. And so he just, you know, doesn't want you to do any more jokes. And it's the same guy who calls him into the office and says, I just don't think you're funny.
@tommyborumjokesAnd so Norm is like, oh, that's that's terrible news. And so. If one guy can think that Norm's not funny but also be best friends with OJ, that person has a serious critical error in judgment. And I think we're all better off for it because that freed up Norm to go and do other things. I don't think anyone wants to see a guy be on SNL for 20-something years like Kenan Thompson because now the only thing he's known for is being the black guy doing characters on SNL.
@tommyborumjokesNo one knows that Kenan had a show called Kenan, right? No one's familiar with that. But everyone knows that Norm had a spinoff called Norm. and that that was a funny enough show. He's had podcasts, the Norm Macdonald podcast, and then the Norm Macdonald has a podcast that was rebooted. Those are all great formats and nothing he's ever done has been, you know, fallen flat or I would say this way.
@tommyborumjokesIt might have bombed at the time. People might not have always gotten the joke that he's told, but looking back on it in hindsight, you have to know like Norm was always giving the joke for the back of the room, which is like the other comedians who are watching. And he's doing it for himself. He's telling a joke that he believes is funny, that he knows the people at home, the folks at home, will think is funny.
@tommyborumjokesAnd it doesn't really matter if the audience sitting there live claps or laughs or boos, because what he knows is funny. And he's going to say the thing that's funny. And maybe the crowd is a little bit more left, or maybe the crowd's a little bit more right. Maybe they're all fans of OJ. You could have his entire former teammates sitting in the front row, and it wouldn't matter.
@tommyborumjokesNorm would still be...
Ian Malcolmyeah he really uh he kind of broke the mold and the fact that they told him to stop doing it and then he kept doing it and then they said if you keep doing it we're gonna fire you and so he said all right fine i'll stop and then he kept doing it and they fired him and i just love the fact that given that it was a live program they could they couldn't do anything because once they turned on the cameras and he's there it's just like all right he's probably gonna do it again and so a lot of credit to him but uh
Ian MalcolmBut Tommy, this has been so much fun. I know we've got a lot of individuals up here with some questions. I'd be curious if either Destiny or MisterQ might want to ask one for you.
@misterquigley33I got a quick question. Hey, Tommy, how are you doing, man? Really recent, but big fan of your work. Appreciate it. JoAnn will tell you I've also recently made a name for myself making jokes at the expense of Zionist Jews and Jewish culture.
@joann_marieAnd you're hilarious, MisterQuigley.
@misterquigley33We're in good company. You said something that really resonates with me in that- I'm so glad I said something that resonates with somebody today. Holy shit. One thing specific, the rest of it was dog shit, but one thing in particular really resonated with me. You mentioned how the best way to take power out of evil is to make a mockery of it.
@misterquigley33And man, props for that. When you were listing off comedians, the one that jumped immediately to my mind, I took a lot of inspiration growing up from the great comedian Mel Brooks. uh and he believed and took a lot of shit for the belief that making a mockery of evil is one of the best ways to disarm it and take the power out of it you can see that in the producers with springtime for hitler blazing saddles holy smoke blazing saddles oh my god yeah so extremely controversial both but he didn't give a shit um and i think that he recognized that when you elevate something above the ability to mock it you make it more powerful um
@misterquigley33and because you make it so that the only way that people can engage with it is to take it seriously. So, you know, props to you for that, man. There wasn't so much a question there, but man, that really resonates with me and I really appreciate somebody else having that perspective. Those compliments are my favorite questions.
@misterquigley33So, Mister, I appreciate that very much. Absolutely. Anytime. My question is, and this is something that I get asked a lot because I get away with saying a lot of really controversial shit on YouTube. And the kinds of shit that you would not have been able to get away with saying on YouTube just a few years ago. So why is it that you think that we're relatively recently allowed to make the kinds of jokes that we're making in particular about Zionism and Jewish culture more broadly?
1:15:23Censorship and the Overton Window
@misterquigley33What do you think changed? Is it just that the Overton window has shifted since October 7th? Do you think there's something more to it than that? I'm just curious what your read is on that.
@tommyborumjokesBut not so tightly that you notice. And when they start to go, oh, fuck, we're losing our grip. And they start to grip more tightly. People, you know, they buck that. They rebuke that. They say, not me. And they slide on out. And comedy itself is very slippery. And there are a lot of different things that can be funny from different perspectives.
1:16:16Censorship Grip Slips Like Comedy
@tommyborumjokesSo when they try to lock down and tamp down on any kind of free creativity, people will naturally find ways to mock that. I guess that's probably the best answer I can have. I can make the joke about the band, hold on loosely, don't let go by the 38th special. But also that is how I would apply their grip on whether you want to call it censorship or the censorship of creativity or trying to make sure that comedians only punch down and make fun of the whites and the blacks and the Asians and the lesbians and the gays, but never the Jews.
@tommyborumjokesAnd especially if you can say, OK, well, not just the Jews, but how about you mock Israel and you can mock the fact that there will not be anytime soon a children's piano recital in Gaza? Like that you can you can think about the different ways to mock what the IDF is doing and still have it be like, OK, I can see where he was going with that.
@misterquigley33Hmm. I I'm inclined to agree, I think that. The more that they try to restrict, the more attention is drawn to it. And it's just reached a point of absurdism to where, no, obviously, this is what's happening. Obviously, it's reprehensible. And I think you also mentioned something about the market share with X. I think that one or zero is a special number.
@misterquigley33So as long as there were no platforms where you could make these kinds of jokes or have these kinds of conversations, it was more easy to restrict that I still have yet to receive any...
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmI don't think anyone's ever described my humor as highbrow.
@misterquigley33Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmAnd that's the thing that I find the most curious is like JoAnn was saying, of all the things that they went after on TikTok anyway, me saying, well, there's this group of people that want to censor and suppress all the things that we're saying because they control all these different things, right? That's what they don't want.
Ian MalcolmThey want essentially the radical, quote unquote, Jew hate because then it's very easy for them to shrug it off and to suggest to the boomers.
@misterquigley33Well, and it isn't about race, or at least it isn't for me. And I have a lot of genuine anti-Semites in my audience, and I knew that there would be many when I started talking about this stuff. But I also go out of my way to highlight people like Max Blumenthal and Dave Smith and Norman Finkelstein and Murray Rothbard, Mel Brooks, people that I admire, that I look up to, that I consider heroes, that happened to also be.
@misterquigley33All right. Thank you very much.
Ian MalcolmAnd the dad says, or no, I'm sorry, Darth Helmet says as his punishment, he's going to reinstate her Jewish nose. And they show a profile of what looks like the Wicked Witch of the West. It's like, I can't believe of all people that Mel Brooks is the one that did it.
@misterquigley33I was thinking of the rabbi in... Robin Hood Men in Tights. I mean, that was another amazing fucking character that, yeah, was it 20% off circumcisions or something? I forget, it's been a while. But being able to take a joke requires the ability to take accountability and to reflect on oneself and to acknowledge the areas in which stereotypes are actually based in truth because fucking all of them are.
@misterquigley33And some components of Jewish culture seem to be completely allergic to that capacity to say like, yeah, we are kind of cheap. Or yeah, we do have a whole lot of pedophiles taking sanctuary in Israel. Or yeah, we did murder tens of thousands of kids in Gaza. Whoopsie daisy. Like there's just not that ability to self-reflect.
@misterquigley33And I think that that's a big part of the problem. That was, what was it? Yitzhak last night, like trying to get him to acknowledge, is there absolutely anything that... Mr. Quigley I followed you back and thank you for the compliment I appreciate that.
@tommyborumjokesThanks, Brian. And good luck on YouTube. I'll have to check you out. I would just mention I only just got my YouTube channel back this past January, I think it was, or December. I had had an account for all of nine months before I had it nuked in 2021. So it had been gone for five years. Of the seven years that my channel has existed on YouTube, I've only had it in total for just going on two years now.
@misterquigley33So, dude. I am sure that my audience would fucking love you. If you ever want to do an interview, hit me up. I'll see about getting your numbers bumped back up.
@tommyborumjokesHey, dude, send me a DM and we'll set it up. That sounds great. Hell yeah. All right. All right. I'm out of here.
@misterquigley33Appreciate you guys. Thank you so much for coming out. I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving. I'm just going to shut the fuck up and let other people talk.
@tommyborumjokesTwo quotes from the Wolf of Wall Street there. I'm not leaving.
@tommyborumjokesI'm not fucking leaving. All right, who's next? Go ahead. Someone throw their hand up. Sean, I thought I saw first, maybe. Let's go to Sean.
Ian MalcolmCan you hear me?
@thewontonshawnWe can.
@tommyborumjokesWe can.
@thewontonshawnWelcome. All right. Sweet. Because my AirPods, I left them in D.C. at the airport. So I'm using like these weird headphones.
@tommyborumjokesWell, dude, you're partying with your shirt off in bars with dudes in D.C. I saw that picture.
@thewontonshawnHey, easy killer. Don't I mean, come on.
@tommyborumjokesYou left a lot more than the AirPods over there, buddy.
@thewontonshawnNo, listen. No, no, no. It's fine. It's fine. We're just going to pretend like none of that happened. Tommy, I think actually Ian was the one who kind of started this conversation or kind of brought it up. But you guys were talking a little bit, and then the last speaker also covered a couple of my talking points. So I'm just gonna say, I think it's wild that everyone feels like right now, X is the platform for free speech on this topic.
@thewontonshawnI don't know about you guys, but I mean, we all know TikTok has completely censored us, and that happened shortly after the inauguration. I mean, that was 90%, 95% of my...
@thewontonshawnI just feel like it tanks. So I don't know. I feel like I get more information right now on the topic of Israel and Bibi and any of these other... I'm trying to watch, like filter my words that no one's getting suppressed or anything here. But like, I feel like it just tanks. I don't know. And so I guess my question would just be, are you guys experiencing the same thing?
@thewontonshawnOr is this just like a me problem? Because it could be a me problem. The vast majority of my following was built during 2024. I don't know. Maybe it's just a Sean problem. But if everyone else is saying they feel like this is where they're getting all of their free speech on this issue, I guess I just feel the polar opposite.
@thewontonshawnSo is it an algo thing? Is it a me thing? Are you guys experiencing the same thing?
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I can try to speak to that at least first, and then I'll be quick and let somebody else answer. My suspicion, my theory, because remember, I'm also a psychic retard. I will absolutely tell you what is the reality, whether we know it to be or not. The reality is, I think the old Twitter and when it was taken over, when it became X, I think they almost locked these things in.
1:27:42X Algorithm Categorization Theory
@tommyborumjokesI think you were put in a box. I think you've been categorized. I think that whatever content you used to post and were most prolific about and were most impactful posting about is the kind of category they now have you in. So if you were posting nonstop about anti-trans... post anti-trans people, anti-transitioning, anti-transgender, any of those things, then when you post about the new Harry Potter, it's not going to be seen.
@tommyborumjokesBut all your followers will be shown and pushed the post when you make the next, you know, hey, look at what this trans person posted on Reddit. How insane are they? Like that will be pushed out. And so similarly, like I just pulled up for the people who are watching this on screen on any of the other platforms, I have just kind of sorted my posts by
@tommyborumjokesWayne Waldrop. Oh, he's here listening. Wayne was on X. He's given me a couple pointers live on a space that we did the other day on the stream about how those things change and update and search engine optimization, how you can make a post that will or won't go viral. And I think that X is still kind of locked into that.
@tommyborumjokesSo that's my answer for you, that I think, to your point, If you're posting stuff like I've seen, and believe me, Sean, I try to ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist also, buddy. When you're posting stuff from the bar with your shirt off in D.C. and you're like, I missed my flight, so I guess I'm out partying again. Like then I'm thinking like, OK, well, that will probably be seen by your older audience from years past.
@tommyborumjokesAnd then the stuff that you have that may be more nuanced and serious or sincere, not that those things are not serious and sincere. If you have a political take, maybe that's not going to be seen as much because the algorithm thinks this is out of your behavior. It's not typical behavior from you.
@thewontonshawnSo I guess part of what I'm hearing is that X is feeding you my shirtless posts because you spend too much time looking at them. I'm kidding. But I guess that's helpful. I guess my second question then on that to whoever else wants to answer, and we can just move on from this. I feel like maybe it's belabored at this point, but...
@thewontonshawnSo no one who I guess was super pro-Trump and campaigned for him during 2024 and that's where they built their following is ever going to be seen by the masses as like, whoa, wait a minute, I have an issue with what's going on X, Y, and Z here. I guess that's just unfortunate. I don't know. I mean, that's helpful.
@tommyborumjokesI don't know that that's necessarily true because I was a pretty good Trump boy for a long time. I was like Mr. MAGA in 2016. I was, you know, absolutely stopped the steal in 2020 and let's watch Dinesh's movie. Oh my God, how cutting and wonderful. And only in like the last three, four years have I been like, oh, we're getting fucked.
@tommyborumjokesAnd I still voted for 2024 for Trump, but even since then, I'm like, oh my God, impeach him. Like, if you look at my recent posts, I'm like, could he be impeached by this? Could he be getting impeached by that? And it's because of his kowtowing and kneeling, literally, for Israel. And so that's I'm now I'm like a single issue voter.
@tommyborumjokesLike if you support Israel, you're not getting my vote. So I posted a lot about them and about censorship from Jewish people in particular. You know that the second rate is the second highest rated post that I have is referring to the Epstein file saying if they can call us goyim, we should be allowed to call them kikes without being moderated.
@tommyborumjokesThat was seen half a million times. So, like, that was definitely out of left field for someone who would be otherwise following my political coverage.
@thewontonshawnThat's helpful. Yeah. I mean, thanks, Tommy. I think that's helpful. I think maybe part of it, too, is the vast majority of my following was built in 2024. So, I mean, I wasn't on this platform before that. But that's helpful, and I appreciate the context. I just felt like, you know, everybody keeps saying that this is still the free speech platform.
@thewontonshawnI just feel like, I guess, it depends on who you are that's speaking. But that's super helpful. Thanks, man. And love your posts and your content and you too, Ian, like always seeing it and interacting. So appreciate you guys.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, Sean, take this home with you. I'm not staring at your shirtless pics, dude.
@thewontonshawnI was just messing, but listen. It's great engagement farming, you know? And nine times out of ten, that shit's posted. I'm drunk at the bar when I'm posting that. But Tommy's making it out to seem like I'm out at the bar every night. I got stuck in D.C. overnight on a flight for like 18 hours. And I'm like, let's go. We're going to fucking rally like out to the bars.
@thewontonshawnAnd it was a little bit of a dramatic evening. I'll just put it that way. But it was a good time. And it's fun. Y'all got a shirtless pick out of it.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, that's a good point. I'll also highlight this. The algorithm shows you things you hate just to drive anger bait. So just for the record, you know.
@thewontonshawnYeah, that's fair. That's fair. I mean, I get it, Tommy. If that's the case, I guess I got to get back in the gym.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I was going to say I didn't comment on that. I didn't say, hey, you can afford to lose some. No, I didn't say that.
@thewontonshawnI appreciate it, man. And thanks for making light of it. It was a good time. But great, great engagement, you know.
@tommyborumjokesYour flight was grounded and now so are you after your posts.
@thewontonshawnExactly, exactly. All right, I'll leave it there. I'll let somebody else go. I don't know who else has hands up, but good to see all of you guys up here. Appreciate it.
Ian MalcolmAnd for what it's worth, Tron, on the suppression and the censorship, what Tommy said was spot on about the idea of putting us into essentially boxes and keeping these ideas as...
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian Malcolmis sent something for me and Tommy's mom sends it to her friend Beth, right? And Beth sees it and is like, oh man, those Jews are kind of weird. Maybe I'll follow Ian Malcolm. You know what's going to happen? I'm convinced that two or three or four weeks later, if Beth has not gone back onto X with any kind of regularity and hasn't gone looking for the content that I would share, what happens?
1:38:07X Bot Replacement and Fake Impressions
Ian MalcolmX removes the follow from her. And then what it does is it replaces it with a bot. And I really believe that that's what's happening is they're constantly siphoning off actual people that have actual opinions. They are replacing them with bots so that we don't quote unquote notice, but of course we're too smart for this silly little ploy.
Ian MalcolmAnd then the craziest part, this is the next iteration of it. The bots that they're applying historically didn't do anything to interact with our content, right? And that would weigh it down to make sure it doesn't get perceived as being viral by the algorithm. What they're going to do next
Ian MalcolmRight? And it's like, okay, so this was written by Claude or some other AI. The sole purpose of that bot engagement is so that when Tommy's mom's friend, Beth, happens to see the post that maybe they are sent by a third person that otherwise they wouldn't be able, of course, to see because of the way that they have a reason to shut it down.
Ian MalcolmWell, not only to shut it down, but so the bigger thing, the shutting down isn't, I mean, obviously, yes, there's the meme and they do a lot of that via the suppression of censorship. The bigger thing,
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
@thewontonshawnNo, it makes so much sense. I'm going to add two things, and then I promise I'll shut up and stop talking. No, no, no. Just two more things. One is I kind of had an inkling, like, post-inauguration, something weird happened on this platform. And what, in my head, as someone whose, my background is in merchandising and marketing for massive companies in this country, and I, it doesn't make sense to me, and I don't know if anybody else has seen this, but impressions v. engagement,
@thewontonshawnImpressions vs. Engagement is so polar opposite of what it was pre-January of 2025. It's asinine. It's insane to me that these posts will get 10 million views and only have 5,000 likes. And how about this? 5,000 likes, 250 bookmarks, and...
@thewontonshawnI'm making it up, a thousand comments. Like that does not drive a 10 million impression post. And like, so in my head, what I said was like, I wonder if what happened is, because I know a lot of people in my life who I helped get onto this platform during 2024, during the election cycle. Post the election, they're not on this platform.
@thewontonshawnLike they come on like maybe once a month, maybe every two weeks, whatever. Versus leading up to the election and to the inauguration, they were on every day. And so in my head, I was thinking, is Elon or is X falsifying impressions to, what do I want to say, to appease advertisers who are paying for ad space on that post?
@thewontonshawnBecause when you look at the engagement, it does not add up. It makes zero sense. And so I guess that would be the one thing. I don't know if anybody else has seen that. I saw Ian threw up a couple of hundreds, but if nobody else has seen that.
Ian MalcolmJohn, did you see, and I'm going to speak about this actually in a roundabout way because the user that made this comment, so somebody made a post. I saw this thing because it was under Nikita Bier when he announced his departure from Axis, the head of product, which was very sudden. And in the comments section,
Ian MalcolmBut imagine that you're a social media platform that happens to be owned by SpaceX that happens
Ian MalcolmThank you for joining us.
Ian MalcolmWell, then that could theoretically imply that the senior most leadership of the application were artificially enhancing the value of it for the IPO to mislead the investors. That is a huge crime, right?
@thewontonshawnWell, and to the buyers of that media. So, like, I think about any of my clients that I work with would be, I mean, irate.
@thewontonshawnBecause I think a couple of different bigger accounts had posted about it. Even the one that specialized in content creating and how to capitalize on... Okay, you're in the content creator program or whatever. They posted about him saying... Whatever that comment was. And the account got erased hours later. But the second thing was going to be the new guy who came in to replace Nikita.
@thewontonshawnApparently, there have been updates to the algorithm since. And I actually weirdly did see a shift. Impressions have gone up. They seem to be more level with engagement just in the last two days. But who knows on this fucking platform? I mean, everything changes by the hour. But no, I think it's been interesting. It's been very interesting.
@tommyborumjokesI want to add to that just really briefly. Ian and JoAnn, I sent you this as a DM just now. I looked to the other screen and searched it out. In 2022, When Elon was discussing buying X, now X, Twitter, I had called in to InfoWars from my little basement studio and had discussed with Harrison Smith, and I had the clip, I just sent it to you, where I said exactly that, that part of the reason that they're all paranoid and freaking out about the sale is because they know they've been faking the impressions.
1:46:57Bot Inflation and Ad Fraud
@tommyborumjokesThey've been inflating those numbers and charging for ad revenue that isn't actually being... All of that being maybe half or more being bots. So when Elon Musk is saying, yeah, I bet you half of the... When he's looking at and kicking the tires on the purchase of Twitter, and he's asking, I wonder how much of the traffic is actually bots?
@tommyborumjokesThe company already knew. Twitter employees already were aware. And they were openly, I mean, openly to you and I, if we can see the numbers, committing fraud with their advertisers who are paying for real, authentic, and authenticated user views. So now, if you're verified, the verified people don't have to see the ads.
@tommyborumjokesEvery other user does. Well, that means every other user could be a bot or someone who is not necessarily a human user. It could be a bunch of, it could be an array of Android, Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmBut that literally Alex Karp and Palantir in an interview with the media bragged about how they were basically using AI to neuter quote unquote far right radicalism from emerging in Europe. They actively stated we are undermining political activism, essentially, of individuals that were in opposition to authoritarianism.
Ian MalcolmSo we know that the AI players are doing this. We know that, of course, Facebook or Meta, whatever you want to call it, that they were in bed with all these different advertisers. They were selling that information. But that info, let's be real, it's not just being used by politicians to try and figure out how to lure their, let's say, their audience to their voting polls.
Ian MalcolmThank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmThank you for joining us.
Ian MalcolmWell, what do you think that means about the intelligence agencies or about your own government, right, that's trying to use that same capability? So it really does get rather terrifying, but we're going to keep comically laughing into the face of all the danger. Speaking of laughter, Mr. Rabbi [guest], we've got here.
Ian MalcolmI'm curious, Rabbi, for your thoughts on anything shared or on some of the comedy and the work of our guest speaker.
@malleusigHey, guys, I wish I'd been here earlier because I missed apparently everything from Tommy. I think I already follow him. No, I don't. I'm going to follow him now though. But no, I unfortunately have to go and listen to the recording. I am just really, really excited. I woke up and apparently Netanyahu is losing the election.
1:51:16Netanyahu Elections and Push Polling
@malleusigI don't know if that's good news or bad news. I just like to see Netanyahu freak out and I'm enjoying the meltdowns from random Israelis about how the Arabs are committing a political October 7th on them. It is absolutely delicious just watching it.
@tommyborumjokesIt must be because of this space. I just have to say they heard what we were talking about and they realized they were up against something that was too tough.
@malleusigWell, the thing is, apparently what I'm reading is that the Arabs in Israel are doing exactly what the Hasidic Jews in places like East Ramapo, New York, New Jersey do, where everyone in the family is getting into cars and buses and going out to vote. And they are exercising their democratic right to, you know, vote in an election.
@malleusigAnd Israelis are freaking the fuck out about it. And it's just glorious to behold.
@joann_marieBut is he still losing, though? Because the ones that I was seeing today, like a couple of minutes ago, Netanyahu was winning. So I don't know. Let me check. I hope he does lose.
@malleusigEveryone is talking about how...
@joann_marieI mean, it's the same thing, right? They're all psychotic and psychopaths, but... That's the problem.
@malleusigEven if Netanyahu loses, you're just going to get another fucking Israeli, right? So it's like, what improvement is there? As a matter of fact, you can make the argument that it would be better to keep Netanyahu because he's universally hated at this point by most Israelis and by the rest of the world.
Speaker 1Well, so it's the devil you know.
@malleusigSo I don't know how I feel about this, but I do enjoy seeing Bibi meltdown. That is viscerally pleasurable. So that's really nice.
@tommyborumjokesI would love to also see the heat stay on Israel, but I'd like it to be all at once in a big flash right overhead.
@malleusigI know, right? Someone asked me for it. Someone said... Do we need to denuclearize Israel? And I said, no, well, we need to do one of two things. Either denuclearize Israel or nuclearize it really, really quickly. Exactly right.
@tommyborumjokesRight.
Ian MalcolmHey, I would ask if anyone's not advocating any kinetic violence, just want to be very clear.
@tommyborumjokesWe're not in control of nukes. They can't accuse us of, you know, suggesting that any citizen do that. My position or supposition, I wanted to pose this to the crowd and maybe have them think on it for a minute. If we are familiar with what push polling is, in 2015, 2016, they pushed out that everyone and their mother was going to go vote for Hillary Clinton.
@tommyborumjokesAnd they did it too hard. And the New York Times headline was, 99% chance Hillary Clinton will win. And so what that did for being a push poll itself was maybe overkill. And they ended up turning people to go and run out to vote for Trump because they thought, hell, I'm going to go stick it to her. I'm going to vote for Trump anyway.
@tommyborumjokesAnd they had people who thought, oh, she's going to win. It's in the bag. Well, then never mind. I don't actually have to go vote. I'll just wear my I'm with her T-shirt. And so some of that may be at play. I would ask if people would then map that logic onto what you now see from Kalshi and from Polymarket when they are proposing to you, oh, actually, it looks like this person's going to win.
@tommyborumjokesOh, it actually looks like this person's now in the lead. You have to read those things and not think. Hey, these companies that are doing this for financial gain, because it's a betting app, they would never lie to me. Instead, think of it like, why do they want me to believe that that's the outcome and it's already been a given?
@malleusigThe thing is, I saw the Calci chart and the Calci chart was like 56% that there's going to be no government at all. So what does that mean? Does it mean like, essentially, neither of us got enough votes and I'm hoping that J.D.
@tommyborumjokesVance is listening to the space as an anonymous listener and that he might decide, eh, maybe we would press the button.
Speaker 2Can we do the anarchy thing? Can we do the anarchy thing for a while? Yeah, I like that idea. Let's do that.
Speaker 3No, nobody's going for anarchy or any kinetic violence of any kind.
Speaker 2I didn't say violence. I didn't say violence.
@joann_marieAnarchy just implies it.
@malleusigYou meant peaceful protest. Exactly.
Speaker 2I meant peaceful anarchy.
@malleusigIsraelis are pretty freaking kinetic as it is, even with a government in place. I think I would like to see what they turn into when there's no government. That would be kind of interesting. I can only imagine the Hasidics versus the atheist Jews versus the IDF nationalists versus the bleeding-heart liberal Jews, which just means you don't want to kill quite all of the Palestinians, apparently.
@malleusigI would like to see that because... in my imagination it's a bunch of people all accusing everyone else of wanting to kill them for no reason and telling them that they had grandparents that died in the holocaust and then seeing that not work against other people that also claim grandparents that died in the holocaust and that everyone wants them dead for no reason it's like it's like mutual mutually assured destruction but in the rhetorical sense i just oh my god i would i would i wouldn't want to film that
@whatthefaarkCan I jump in for a sec, or is that not okay? Go for it. Oh, great. Thanks. I've been using Claude with a paid subscription for about 10 months. Absolutely brilliant. Love it. I've done so many good things with it, including make little apps. Everything I want to do, I can do with it, except one thing, and that's challenge the holo hoax.
1:57:34AI Guardrails And Holocaust Inquiry
@whatthefaarkThat's the one thing you can't do with it. You can do everything else. You can talk about any subject, anything at all, in the whole of history. You cannot challenge the hollow hoax.
Ian MalcolmWell, they definitely have a lot of guardrails on certain subjects. No violent event denial taking place in this space, merely inquiring into unusual pieces of history. If anybody has not seen it, Certainly a type in the word Z-U-N-D-E-L trial into X. You'll find some really weird pieces, including the expert witness who was Jewish, Raoul Hilberg, who made a suggestion about maybe a lack of any single piece of physical evidence that would suggest that certain things happened.
Ian MalcolmNot a single thing. Which is really kind of weird, especially for the expert witness that was, of course, attacking this individual for making the suggestion that perhaps some of these things had been misrepresented. Again, not denying any pieces of history. We also, of course, never call for any kind of kinetic violence against anybody.
Ian MalcolmWe're merely speaking, as we best can, to try and bring intellectual and spiritual truth to the world to make it a better place. Somehow that is viewed as terrorism. and as is me criticizing people who are clearly terrorizing the Palestinians by genociding them. That makes us the terrorists and the patriots are the ones dropping the bombs.
@whatthefaarkIt's really weird. It's weird. And I'll tell you one thing. There is one good news though. I stumbled across something the other day called uncensored.ai. Uncensored.ai. And everything Claude won't do, it fills in the gaps. Thank you for joining us.
@whatthefaarkTommy, one thing that worries me about Claude is the amount of shares that BlackRock have in them.
@joann_marieAll of AI is controlled by them. So, yeah. Anyway, thank you so much for coming up, always. Let's go to Darrell. Welcome. Go for it.
@speakerYeah, I surely miss, like, all right, so... Ian mentioned Spaceballs and Mel Brooks. It was self-deprecating, right, back then. And it's nothing that you see now. Oy vey, if you were to have a movie like Mel Brooks did, what, Robin Hood, Men in Tights, circumcision, soy-concisions, you know, where that whole thing in Mel Brooks is like, it makes your thing look bigger, you know, and then...
@speakerGodfroy, Raed Jamal رائد جمال
@speakerYou know, you just have to kind of look at the self-deprecating portion of the whole thing that Mel Brooks was doing, even though he's a Jew, he's a kike, and then he had all the Jews staff, like JoAnn Rivers and all the other Jews into his film and production. But, like, at the same time, though, it was kind of, like, comical.
@speakerIt was self-deprecating for the Jews. But now, like... I don't understand how the time shift or the time stamp has switched and changed to where it's just like now that would be considered anti-Semitic. You know what I mean? Like I don't even understand like how this happened because you have Jews making fun of Jews. And Jews have a history of killing of the Jews.
@speakerHey, always, always, always mute your mic, bro. You'll have your turn. And you have Jews killing other Jews, which we already know what's happened now. And you look at October 7th and all the other history, the Al-Talima affair, King David Hotel, etc., etc., et al. But I just don't understand, like, why things have gotten so serious.
@speakerLike, man, dude, like, I don't know. Like, I just look at things from a kind of, like, sensical humor. Like, it's just... Just don't take shit so serious. Let's just be funny. Let's have fun. Call a spade a spade. And I'll say that. I'll land right there. So that's all I wanted to say. It's just comedy at the end of the day.
@joann_marieBeautiful. Thank you. Tommy, did you want to add anything?
@tommyborumjokesNo, I thought what he said about spades was racist. No, no, you're all good. That all made sense. Thanks for the input.
@joann_marieGodfroy, how are you?
@g0dfr0yI'm good. Thanks for hosting this space. Tommy, thanks for coming by my space the other night, man. I'm a huge fan of yours. My question for you is, are you noticing like a consciousness rising or a new groundswell of support for... Are there any anti-Zionist or what I call pro-reality views in the comic world? Are there comedians that perhaps have told you privately that they agree with you, but they're too big to say it publicly?
@g0dfr0yOr are you noticing that there's a shift in the public consciousness when it comes to the JQ in Israel in the comedian world?
@tommyborumjokesYou know what's really interesting about that? That's a great question. And I would I would never say, oh, this person told me this privately. Here's their name. But I will say people of all stripes will like posts. And you know how your likes are now private, like the only people that see your likes are you and then the people who made the post.
@tommyborumjokesThat is that that can be very telling when someone likes a post and they don't even follow you, but they see a post of yours and they like it. You can go, huh, okay, well, I see what they're noticing. So to your question, am I noticing that all the time? Are we noticing a lot of things? Yes. And I think we're not alone.
@tommyborumjokesThere are people who probably feel like they are boxed in, whether it's their career or their demand for income or their cushy life that they don't want to give up. And that's fine. That makes sense. But they are absolutely speaking out with their activity and in their engagement. If that makes sense. And some of them will come on the show.
@tommyborumjokesI have a pretty good schedule yet running for the next many weeks on my live stream with different guests popping in every day. And so stay tuned for that. Not to plug it, but check out the show. But just in the posts that I will put up, there are people who like them that you would be shocked to know are right in line with some of these thoughts that we're all having.
@g0dfr0yThat's awesome, man. Yeah, I kind of figured that. And of course, I hope you know, I was never asking you to betray anybody or I was just asking in a general sense. But I'm sure. No, I wasn't suggesting. Oh, no, I know. I know.
@tommyborumjokesI hate that because the last thing I'd want is to think, oh, man, I can't talk to him anymore because, you know, he'll say something. I'm just I'm stating for the record, you know, if someone tells me something in confidence, then that's where it stays. Yeah. But when someone is publicly, you know, engaging, but it's not seen by the public.
@tommyborumjokesYou know, because like X is the is the town square. The social media writ large is where people go to interact with people when it's not available to do in public. But it's still a public platform. And a lot of these people will like a post or will respond or will say, hey, I'll come on the show. And that is I mean, that's very telling to me that behavior.
@tommyborumjokesThe agreeing with certain things is critical.
@g0dfr0yYeah, absolutely. And I've noticed that myself just as far as like some of the surprising accounts who followed me. I don't really make that public as far as like when somebody big follows me, I don't make a big post about it or anything. I kind of keep it on the DL. But I get the impression that, you know, some of the spaces that Ian and I host, there's really big people that are listening in that otherwise wouldn't want to put their name on there.
@g0dfr0yand I think that's one of the good things of what we're doing is we're creating an outlet where people can come, get information, listen to people who are speaking freely, and be inspired by these conversations. So I think what you're saying speaks to that definitely. And somebody who I'm a big fan of, I listen to his podcasts all the time, is Sam Tripoli.
@g0dfr0yAnd oddly enough, he's married to a Jewish woman, but he has people like, he's had Dustin Nemos on his podcast, Godfroy, Raed Jamal
@tommyborumjokesWe text, you know, so that's another thing, you know, when people say, I agree. And Sam's not one that would ever deny having agreed with some of these things. He probably doesn't agree with everything, I think. If he did, that'd be crazy. But yeah, no, Sam's a good dude and only love for Sam Tripoli.
@g0dfr0yRight on, brother.
@whatthefaarkHey guys, can I ask a question? I'm not sure of the etiquette.
@joann_marieYeah, but we have time. All right. Thank you. Bryce, go for it.
Speaker 2Bryce? Hey, I'm sorry. I'm in the middle of something.
@joann_marieYou can... Alright, I'll go to the next person.
Speaker 2Drop me down. You can drop me down.
@joann_marieCharlie, how are you? How's the cartoons going?
@charlescarter81The cartoons have stopped. I'm sober, everyone. I've got to get up very early. Good job, Charlie! This isn't a new trend. It's just because I've got to get up early for a big pitch tomorrow. Anyway, Tommy, I just discovered you. I've been listening all along. I'm a guy that also did comedy for a few years. 2016 to about 2020 and then I just saw the sellouts and like I saw a fucking comedy store have a vaccine policy and to speak of Sam Tripoli, he's the only one that remained there.
@charlescarter81My question actually is kind of more for me. I don't know. We're going to swing it back to comedy. But what the hell is Austin like? Because that is the new comedy mecca because LA is a shithole now.
2:09:05Comedy Scene Migration to Austin
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I think it's been for a while that, or at least it had been, that Austin was like the new comedy scene. You know, people that were either in New York or in L.A. and you could maybe travel back between the two. And those were always the destinations. Like the young girl who wants to be an actress goes and picks up her bags and goes to Hollywood.
@tommyborumjokesAnd if you're a comedian, it was like, well, you either want to get good enough and big enough that you can afford to go to New York and live cheaply and try Mike's there or go to L.A. and try to get in at the comedy store. And now it is like, no, you want to go and you want to live in or outside Austin and then you want to go and do the Sixth Street Circuit every night as much as you can.
@tommyborumjokesSo I would I would say to anyone who's trying now, give up. It's too late. No, if you're trying now, go to go to Austin or start doing stuff online today. And it's never going to stop. We're in an interconnected world with the Internet and with social media platforms having far more reach than any club or any room in. Austin or in any other city.
@tommyborumjokesSo perfect example is Shane Gillis. You know, he was doing his podcast. He was doing standup in New York and Philly and in kind of like the tri-state area. But then he was also doing things online. He was shooting sketches with his friends and putting it out on a website. And he quickly became the largest, you know, biggest selling standup comedian of today because of that.
@tommyborumjokesAnd that is done because you're not going and trying to, you know, suck up to Every single other big comedian in a major city. So yes, you can go to LA or New York or now Austin, but I would say just as much stay online and you can draw a following online clearly.
@tommyborumjokesYou have to do it all, I suppose.
@joann_marieCharlie, do you want to say something else?
@charlescarter81No, that was it. I was just kind of curious. No, I did the whole... LAC, no, I'm done. I'm just a funny man now. I think comedy is more of a back of the room thing. And the one thing that you had mentioned earlier, now that I just create my own content, is it's just the best revenge is to live well. In a sense, I just make myself laugh and I have fun and I post here periodically.
@charlescarter81But good on you for staying on it and fighting through trying to come up in Grand Rapids as opposed to having that LA scene where you have it every night and getting banned from a club. I can only imagine... What that was like. Where are you located now, actually?
@tommyborumjokesOh, it's a secret. I'm in North Dakota. But I had been in Austin. I had been in West Michigan prior to. I had the privilege, the opportunity to go and live freely in Texas for a while and try to get into that scene. But you're right. It's hard to start in 2016 and then to...
@tommyborumjokesSo it is kind of tough if you're looking at 2020 and remembering like, okay, well, can I put my name on the list? They'd be like, you can, but you're not going to get called. And that can be daunting and discouraging. So again, one of the best ways for anyone to overcome that is to just start their own show. And you've seen people who are now like, I'll give credit to Tony Hinchcliffe with Kill Tony, though I was never drawn out of the bucket.
@tommyborumjokesTony had the... Thank you for coming up, Charlie, and I miss you. I'm glad you're back. All right. Comedy trophy. Go for it.
@joann_marieHey, thanks.
@comedytophyThanks, JoAnn. Thanks, Ian. Thanks, Rabbi.
@comedytophyTommy, I love you. I was just going to, you know, coming from the music world, you know, South by Southwest was always the, you know, the mecca of where we could go as independent musicians. So I've been, I've played in Austin, you know, several times. Sixth Street is a thing. It was always where we wanted to be. So, especially coming from Canada, Toronto, I want to say, has a really good comedy scene here.
@comedytophyBut we've recently had a bunch of guys go down to Austin to relocate. And my question for you is, do you know Ben Barkus? And if you do, do you have any thoughts on what he's been doing? Because... In Canada, he's kind of like the, it's hard to say, an iconoclast where he tackles all of the issues that we can't really talk about here in terms of immigration, in terms of race, in terms of whatever.
@comedytophyI'm just wondering how that's playing down south and if you see more people going to Austin to sort of find a voice, I guess.
@tommyborumjokesDid you say Ben Bankas?
@comedytophyYes.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I talked about him earlier. We were, you know, one of the questions was asked, who would I suggest people go listen to now who are doing exactly this? And one of those names was Leonardo Joni and the other one was Ben Bankas.
@tommyborumjokesI don't know him personally, so I can't say like, oh, yeah, he's a buddy. You know, I've not run into him in town playing pool in Austin, for instance, but. That's interesting that he's left Toronto and he's relocated to Austin. Good for him, you know, for his career. Bad for Toronto and for Canada, because you guys keep losing talent to the United States.
@tommyborumjokesIt sucks.
@comedytophyThat's always been the way, though, man. Everybody, everyone who we loved in comedy, you know, back to the old SCTV days, you know, everyone, music, comedy, arts, culture, everyone goes to the States to make it. You know, that's just the way the Canadian scene has always been. We love the ones that stay, but that's not the case.
@comedytophyIf you want to go, and even me being in music, we needed the approval of the South by Southwest scene, for lack of a better term, for validation. It's always been the way. Our culture migrates down South to make it. That's just the way it is. Canada does very little right, but what we do and what we have done in the past very well is export incredible comedians.
@comedytophyLorne Michaels, for Christ's sake, is a Canadian. SCTV is probably the greatest thing that Canada has ever produced in a cultural respect. It isn't a loss for Canada because we support and we love these guys when they go down and they make it because they're still ours.
@comedytophyBut that's just the way it is. If you want to make it, you got to go. And that's a shame and it's a curse.
@tommyborumjokesI will add to that. One of the greatest things that Canadians have ever produced is Norm Macdonald. And going back to kind of what I'd said before about him. He's at the top of my heap in terms of the people who I think are the most talented and the brightest who've ever done it. Just the smartest. He was described by Letterman as an acerbic wit, just a quick, flexible, nimble, an acrobat of comedy.
@tommyborumjokesHe could do it all. And you wouldn't ever see some of the things that he said coming. One of the things that I hold dear is his book.
@tommyborumjokesThe Greatest Heroes. He said, you know, everyone knows the true heroes are you and me. And I take that to heart. You know, obviously he doesn't know me from, you know, really anything at that point and probably didn't before his death. But to know like, hey, from one comedian who's made it and done it all to another who he understands is kind of at this point just starting out within a couple of years of having started doing open mics.
@tommyborumjokesHe wrote that note. That's that's something I would run into a burning building to go retrieve. Bricius Lipscombus, Bricius Lipscombus
@comedytophyNorm is an incredible talent. You pile on the Jim Carreys and the Mike Myers and all those guys. One fun fact about Norm that I don't think people down south outside of Canada realize is that his brother, Neil, is a reporter for the state broadcaster up here and has been for years and years and years. I think he's retired now.
@comedytophyOne guy did news, one brother did comedy. There isn't a distinction between the two at times. It's hilarious that they both have public-facing profiles in their lives. Norm, I miss Norm.
@comedytophyHe's a beacon. He's a beacon for all of us.
Speaker 4What he had to say.
Speaker 5I love Robin Williams.
@g0dfr0yI don't.
Speaker 5Good job, buddy. Why not Godfroy?
@g0dfr0yBecause he's a Hollywood pedophile.
Speaker 4Yeah, okay.
@joann_marieAll right. I need to see evidence of that. Thank you, Godfroy. Jack, please don't interrupt. Tommy, go for it, and then we'll go to Destiny.
Speaker 4What do you guys have to say about Robin Williams? I like Robin Williams.
@joann_marieI literally have a tattoo of one of his shots. So talk about him. No, we're not going to talk about whatever you want, Jack.
@tommyborumjokesAre you asking me what I think of Robin Williams?
Ian MalcolmWe'll take the drunken delivery in the form of a question, and why don't we repurpose it for that, Tommy?
@tommyborumjokesOh, yeah, he's great. Highly talented. Super guy. Probably the first celebrity death, because I was a kid when he died. I'm like, you know, maybe in middle school, I want to guess, or in early, early high school. I must have been, what, 2008? Let me look it up. Robin Williams' death. Because it must have been, okay, so 2014?
@tommyborumjokesNah, that can't be right. That is. When Robin Williams died, I remember that actually hit me the hardest. Yeah, I must have been a junior in high school. Or no. How is that possible that that's 2014? Is that true? Is this a Mandela effect that I'm losing to? I thought it was way earlier than that. I thought it was like 08.
2:21:41Robin Williams and Hollywood Darkness
@tommyborumjokesMaybe I'm thinking of Michael Jackson. I remember when Robin Williams' death struck me at home. Yeah, that's what it was. I would have been home from college, visiting for something or not yet gone off back to school again. That struck me because I was like, damn, we lost a true talent. That was a guy who everyone could look at and think was like, he probably had a heart of gold.
@tommyborumjokesAnd maybe Robin Williams is a great example to point to that. Someone might come off like they are just happy, go lucky, and nothing could ever touch them. Nothing could ever faze them. And you don't know the battles that an individual might be waging every day in their own personal life. So the guy who is the happiest might yet be the saddest person in his own private life.
@tommyborumjokesAnd it's very sad if he actually did commit suicide. I'm sure people have questions about whether or not that's the case. He was looking rough at the end of his life. So it's very sad. Rest in peace, Robin Williams. He's a true talent. We could have loved him forever and instead he decided to go early. I hope that if you commit suicide, you can still go to heaven in some way.
@tommyborumjokesI mean, the Catholics are very torn on this issue. I personally think it's one of the mortal sins that when you throw life away and all of creation around you by committing suicide, you have one place to go and it's not the good one.
@tommyborumjokesI'm almost hopeful that he was killed and staged instead because otherwise I just feel bad for his soul. I know he was a tortured but very talented individual.
Ian MalcolmThere's a documentary on him that goes into the official story anyway based on the documentary is that he had essentially a rendition of dementia and if not Alzheimer's. And that as a result of it was essentially unfamiliar with his surroundings, with his situation. And it's actually, it's very sad the way that they present it in that.
Ian MalcolmBut presuming that that's honest, to your point, Tommy, definitely a tormented soul at the end of his life. But a comedy genius and brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people.
@willingwitnessHey, Ian, did you know that I knew Robin?
@joann_marieYou'll be? And we're going to have a space with Derek in about half an hour, and I'm very excited for it. But tell us, Derek.
@willingwitnessYeah, no, I managed Cuba Gooding Jr. for 16 years. Also, you know how to keep a secret, Derek. Well, no, people actually didn't do a whole lot of shit around me. Nobody brought any young people anywhere near us because they knew I would have lost my shit. You were the president of Paramount, right? Or which one was it?
@willingwitnessMyself? I was the senior vice president of Paramount.
@tommyborumjokesYeah. Well, Derek, you should put me in touch with whoever you know in the industry still. Thank you.
@willingwitnessI don't know what's left of it, but sure. I mean, I can put you in touch with crazy people. I'm just teasing you, Brian. I'm sorry. Go ahead. You can go all the way down the crazy hole. No, I knew Robin because of... We did the movie What Dreams May Come. I was a big part of getting that movie made. And even though I vowed I would not make the movie when I first read the script because everybody died in the first 15 minutes.
@willingwitnessAnd I tried not to make it, but ultimately... Oh, What Dreams May Come? Yeah.
@joann_marieOh my God, that movie traumatized me. I hated Purple because of that movie. I still hate Purple. The mom goes crazy and starts painting this purple tree. I'm not going to spoil it for everyone, but it's such a sad story.
@willingwitnessYeah, that movie was an absolute disaster of a set to be a part of. There's bigger stories that I tell when we get to that later on. One about me basically shutting the entire movie down for a week and a half. because of what took place in this massive dive tank, Navy dive tank that we had that had millions and millions of gallons of water that we had to empty because Hollywood wanted to have authenticity.
@willingwitnessAnd instead of putting makeup on people and making them look demonic in the water, attacking actors, they decided to go get the AIDS patients from the AIDS hospice and put them in there with the stars.
@joann_marieThe people who come out from the earth are AIDS patients from the hospital?
@willingwitnessWhat is wrong with them? He wanted them to look sickly and I lost my mind. I told him his name is Vincent Ward. I called him. I said, Vincent, when I find you, I'm going to decapitate you. I'm going to take your fucking head and I'm going to hang it on a pole so everybody knows why I had to do this.
@tommyborumjokesHey Derek, on second thought, don't introduce me to any of those people.
@willingwitnessYeah, I'm telling you, I know them all just entirely too well. But Robin was a genuine, he would always come to my trailer because he was like a troubled 12-year-old boy. And Robin would make jokes when he was happy, he would make jokes when he was sad, he would make jokes when he was happy. and it it was funny at first and then you know after one time you you really you just got to go stop robin please and uh when that took place on that set he came to my trailer he was losing his mind what do we do captain he was you know crying and because he had bite marks from them on him and so did all the stuntmen i mean these people were flipped out and this is at the beginning of aids nobody really even knew anything about it
@willingwitnessAnd so I got the foremost doctor on AIDS on the phone with all of the stars and the crew and made sure that they had that and got a spin doctor because I was about to fire 175 AIDS patients in San Francisco. I mean, I thought that was not going to go very well for me, but, you know, I did a pretty good job. And it was Interscope Records, Scott Kruf, and we got it done.
@willingwitnessBut it was Anthony Fauci that talked to the crew.
Speaker 6Wait a minute.
@joann_marieThat movie traumatized me, Derek. Ian knows this. I don't remember anything. I literally don't remember anything. And I remember that movie like everything. That scene where they are like coming from, they are like in a boat and the sea is just heads, right? That's the one that it's patients. Yeah, it's such a traumatizing movie.
@joann_marieIt's beautiful, but it's also traumatizing.
@willingwitnessYeah, we built and bankrupt three different special effects companies. We invented half the Thank you for joining us.
@willingwitnessHi everybody, how's it going? It's nice to see you, JoAnn, always.
@dezzie_rezzieI just thought I heard earlier that Tommy said he was in North Carolina. I'm in Virginia, and I was thinking, oh my gosh, we're in the same FEMA region. But we're not. We're not. You're actually in a different region. So no FEMA bunks for us.
2:29:38Global Emergency Prep And FEMA Camps
@tommyborumjokesSorry, Destiny. I'm in North Florida. Even worse. Even worse. You're all on your own. Yeah, if lockdowns come, I'm just going to eat a bullet. I'm not even going to the camp.
@dezzie_rezzieNo, obviously, I already have a bunk mate, so it wouldn't have worked out anyways. My bunk mate is Maze, so I did top bunk. If we get forced in there, you know, it's only a matter of time before we Shawshank Redemption our way out anyways, so. No, I just wanted to...
@joann_marieThe people who you're going to be with in the FEMA camps are going to be really cool people, you know? Like, I have thought about this. Like, imagine being with, like, Ian and Rabbi, you know? Like, it's going to be so much fun.
@g0dfr0yIt'll be good to see you guys there.
@malleusigThe FEMA camps will be where the real party is at that point. Everything else is just going to suck.
@joann_marieParty at the FEMA camp!
@malleusigSeriously, it's going to be great.
@dezzie_rezzieYeah, it might be coming. I wanted to just kind of get the room's take on these recent alerts of all the different countries on emergency and what everyone's take is on this sudden preparation, which shouldn't be that fucking sudden, but okay. And say it's sudden.
@g0dfr0yWell, you know my take, Destiny, but I'll let others weigh in.
@joann_marieTommy, what are your thoughts? Or Rabbi?
@tommyborumjokesYeah, I had said the other night that I think clearly that there are some people who suspect and probably have a lot more access to detailed intel than I would. Like I said, I've just been an observer. I'm watching and being careful about what I'm aware of. And it looked to me like they were, you know, staging and planning for some kind of huge thing.
@tommyborumjokesLike the BBC this past week told all of their citizens with like a press release, like it wasn't like in the headlines, like, hey, by the way, you should go do this. It was like an immediate press release saying, go stock up on food and potable water. And then you had here, I posted this in a space recently, Buckley Carlson, Tucker's brother, not his son,
@tommyborumjokesNow he's telling me to stock up on all the things, so I'm doubling and tripling and 10x-ing my efforts to be prepared. So when I hear people say those things, I'm like, okay, yeah, maybe something's coming. Maybe it's just the usual, not fear-mongering, but preparedness planning pushing. But the fact that it's all happening at the same time is very strange.
@tommyborumjokesSo I don't know. Do we have BB election fallout couple into the next week of midterms in the U.S. being...
@dezzie_rezzieI can't speak for other countries because I don't really give a fuck about other countries. But I look into the United States preparations. And this whole announcement of Fortress, the program that came out September 30th, Pete Hegseth had a memo about it. It was just one of actually six initiatives, but three primary ones like Age in Court, Fortress, and Project Meridian.
@dezzie_rezzieAll of those...
@dezzie_rezzieWe're all fucked, but they'll be fine, right? And so this has been going on for a while. It's just interesting that it's all now accumulating. It kind of feels like with the timing of the Israeli elections that this is kind of like being pushed extra because of that, and they just kind of want to fearmonger this right now because it's like this isn't very new.
@dezzie_rezzieIt is this year new, but it's not new as of today or this week. But yeah, it was just my thoughts.
@malleusigMy question is, like, They lie about everything else. So like, is this like a double fake out where like they tell us to stock up and then it turns out it was actually real for the first time ever?
@tommyborumjokesYou know, it could just as easily be like pre-election. The economy is not looking great. And so what would be better than to tell everyone, hey, go buy, buy, buy. Like, hey, go to the store and clear the shelves out. Go spend the savings that you've been piling up.
@tommyborumjokesWhy are we hearing this and why now? Instead of is it true or is it not? Because you can almost guarantee the government's going to lie about some things. Even if they're telling you something that is straight truth, you can be sure that they're wrong about something. So maybe they're not intending to lie, but they're definitely wrong.
@tommyborumjokesSo then it goes, okay, why are they telling me this now? And why are they wanting me to believe this thing? And that is how I look at all of these things.
@malleusigThe way I look at it is they only tell the truth by accident, right? They only tell the truth when their agenda accidentally lines up with objective reality, right? It's the same thing with the news. It's the same thing with, you know, Jews, basically, right? They're happy to tell the truth when it doesn't affect them in any way or impact their agenda in any negative way.
@malleusigBut the basis, the standard... The protocol does seem to be just say whatever the fuck you think is going to be good for you. And the government, the media, they all seem to be the same thing.
@tommyborumjokesWell, with the few minutes that we have left, does anybody have a question or if anyone wants to jump in?
@whatthefaarkWell, I've been waiting for a while, so always here. I don't know if I can get in or not. I keep getting, every time I try to say a word, even I agree, I get cut off. So I'm not sure how this works.
@malleusigYou just got 20 seconds to speak, so I don't think that's really happening.
@whatthefaarkReady, go. Oh, you got your notes. All right. Okay, well, yeah, I've had to because I've got to keep it in my head while I've been waiting. So October 7th, we've got all these paragliders, apparently, attacking the most incredible army in the Middle East, right, paragliders. And then the Iron Dome, they had to get through the Iron Dome, which we've been told could detect a butterfly.
@whatthefaarkBut then we're told, oh, no, it was only made to detect missiles. But then Iran gets missiles through, right? The Hannibal Directive, the five-hour wait for the IDF to come. Like, why don't comedians tackle this stuff? Have you checked on my profile at all?
@tommyborumjokesHave you searched those things?
@whatthefaarkNo, not yet. I only heard about you now. That's why I'm on, because I saw Comedian, and I love anti-Zionist comedians, but I'll have to go and check it all out. But, I mean, it's just everything. Like someone said, some things that come out of Israel is not bullshit, but that's bullshit. That's all bullshit. Everything that comes out of Israel is bullshit.
@whatthefaarkEvery single word is bullshit.
@whatthefaarkFantastic. Now we've established that.
@whatthefaarkAnd from the person from Canada, Bryan Adams, greatest showman ever.
@g0dfr0yAll right. Thank you. Do you mind if I weigh in on this? Yeah, go for it, Godfroy.
@whatthefaarkSure.
@g0dfr0ySo, yeah, sorry to be that guy again, but I do remain firm in my belief that Trump is going to declare martial law. And I think this just speaks to that. I mean, he needs a power outage environment to do that. And I've always said that he needs a blackout and he's always talked about that in the Q-Syop. And I sadly think that that's what they're preparing for is anywhere between a three-day to ten-day blackout period where Trump takes control of America by force using the Insurrection Act or some other means.
@g0dfr0yAnd if you guys do want to check it out, I put out kind of my thoughts on it on my profile. And again, I hope I'm wrong, but like... I'm at a point now every day where I'm waking up to a new headline that only reinforces that belief. And Destiny and I have talked about this too. The elite seem to know about some kind of major cataclysm coming.
@g0dfr0yAnd I do think that factors into this as well. But the fact of the matter is, even if it is because of a cataclysm, they're going to use it for the evil to seize power. And I think that's why they speed ramp things in Gaza and why they're so desperate to get into Iran because they know this thing is coming soon and they want to move as quickly as possible to get in there.
@g0dfr0yAnd yeah, look, I do maintain my belief that Trump is serious when he said you're not going to have to vote again when you elect me in 2024, when he talks about his third and fourth term and all the Q messaging from... The Department of War, Q is a narrative setup script for martial law. That's one of its main purposes is to condition patriots to accept a totalitarian Trump-led government that's going to lead us into martial law.
@tommyborumjokesDo you think that that comes from an EMP being detonated overhead of like DC and other major cities or what?
@g0dfr0yYeah, it could be that or it could be an AI script.
@g0dfr0yAnd I do think that martial law and the new strike with Iran are intricately tied together. And I think that they're going to use that blackout environment to attack on Iran too.
@whatthefaarkTommy, can I get a link to your stuff about October 7th?
@tommyborumjokesYeah, you know that you're able to go to a person's profile and then search in the keywords. That little search function at the top of the screen, you can search keywords right there and you'll see everything that you can find with that search. There's also an advanced search function. So if you put the handle in...
@tommyborumjokesThere's a search on the right. There's a search just to the left of that big search bar. And then there's also the advanced search. So I would say if you are doubting any of your favorite people and whether or not they've ever said anything about those things to just go look, because I bet you they have. And I can tell you, I definitely have been super critical of the Hannibal directive being announced or deployed.
2:42:53October 7th and the Hannibal Directive
@tommyborumjokesI don't believe that Bibi just was surprised by October 7th. One of the things that I would just say now, and I've said it before, is with all of the tech that the Israelis have, with their ability to plan years in advance of this Hamas and Hezbollah pager attack that they did, they said was so sophisticated, they could just detonate just these, specifically these, these pagers.
@tommyborumjokesThey knew where they were going to end up, so they planted devices within them. Like, how is it that they have all that awareness, all that intel, all that tech, and then they weren't? And then they didn't know about October 7th? That's a farce.
@whatthefaarkYeah. Well, can I tell you why I don't think they knew about it?
@tommyborumjokesBecause I don't believe it even happened. Well, did you understand? I mean, if people understand how psyops truly work, most of it was for the news to publish. It was not to actually have happened. And that's something that goes back hundreds of years. And you can map that logic and other big world events. But for October 7th in particular, remember that the concert took place adjacent to the military base.
@tommyborumjokesSo how is it that...
@comedytophyThis guy loves Bryan Adams. I wouldn't take anything he says seriously.
Speaker 6Well, I'm trying to reply and answer the question.
@whatthefaarkThat's funny. I like that. That's good. Now, well, the thing is that...
@whatthefaarkGo over all the footage, all the video that we've seen from October 7th, right? And why are they all out dancing and everything on a Sabbath? They don't do anything on a Sabbath. Anyway, so the thing is that... Oh, shit, I forget my train of thought now. There's something I was going to say. I'll think about it. No, no, no, no, no.
@whatthefaarkIf you haven't seen him live, don't talk about him because live he's brilliant. He's the best showman ever. God, get a life, man. What was I going to say? I can't remember now. It doesn't matter. Don't worry about it. October 7th, the concert.
@tommyborumjokesI appreciate your input, Malcolm.
@whatthefaarkOh, yeah, that's it. That's the video. That's it, the video. Go and try and find any video with a thousand people there with phones, right, and cameras on them. Try and find any video at all on the internet anywhere. Godfroy, Raed Jamal, Godfroy, Raed Jamal
@whatthefaarkI know it's so obviously Hollywood blood.
@whatthefaarkI mean, they've even left it. They've done his head up, but they've left all the blood all over his face. It's just a joke. They just rub our faces in it. It's just incredible that people don't wake up to this shit. I can't believe that people believe any of it. It's incredible.
@whatthefaarkAny of it. It's all bullshit. Everything. And go and have a look at CrisisCast.com. CrisisCast.com. It's a company that hires our crisis actors. And guess where they've got one location in Sydney? They've got a location in Sydney near Bondi Beach. You know, very interesting. Crisiscast.com I will check it out.
@joann_marieThank you.
@whatthefaarkIt's all bullshit.
@joann_marieThank you so much, always.
@whatthefaarkIt's all bullshit. All of it. Okay.
@joann_marieAmazing. All right. Well, let's go to closing remarks because we have a space with Derek in about five minutes. But this was such a great space, Tommy. So thank you so much. And yeah, go for it.
@tommyborumjokesYeah, JoAnn and Ian both, thank you for putting this together and for putting up with my antics for the last couple hours. I appreciate everybody listening in. And if you did want to, you can find all of my notes, my platform links, all of those things. on my profile at Tommy Borum Jokes. The link there in the bio, allmylinks.com slash America floats.

And thank you again for the time and for allowing me the space.
@joann_marieThis was such a great space. I had so much fun, Tommy, and I'm really happy that it was also impromptu, at least for me. I had no idea it was going to happen. So I love impromptu spaces, and you were absolutely amazing. Ian, go for it.
Ian MalcolmNo, it was an absolute pleasure, and what a wonderful way to kind of weave this web. Again, we had our traditionally scheduled space that we were going to have with Derek here momentarily, but Tommy had the ability... Thank you so much for joining us.
Ian MalcolmI hope everybody is enjoying kind of the progression here. And so, Tommy, it's just been an absolute pleasure. I'm so grateful, not only that you were here with us, but that you shared your gifts of humor.
@tommyborumjokesAll in the same time, at the same day
@tommyborumjokesI have to add this.
Ian MalcolmPlease add all the ways, Tommy, in which, by the way, that people can support your work, whether it's here on X or elsewhere, any shows that you might have, either digitally or in person, that people can support for you.
@tommyborumjokesOh, I wasn't thinking of plugs. I was going to tell you about Dave Matthews Band did have an incident over the Chicago River. At one point, they released on accident their tour bus load of the latrine. And so everyone beneath the bus on the bridge, and they call it the poo poo bus. And there's a whole song in the Dave Matthews band styling about it.
@tommyborumjokesSo that's something that is old. You can go check that out. That is maybe a callback to your name that tune, name that poo. But hey, yeah, if you did wanna support my channel or any of the things that I do, the easiest and simplest way financially is just to become a subscriber on X. I've got a handful of people there now.
@tommyborumjokesIt's two bucks a month. It's really, really simple. I do post subs-only content. It's just pictures of my dog. But it's a nice way to support the channel. Everything else is listed at allmylinks.com slash americafloats. Or otherwise, I'm on YouTube by name, Tommy Borum. OnX, Tommy Borum Jokes. The backup is just my name again, Tommy Borum.
@tommyborumjokesYou won't forget it because if I talk too long to you and the crowd, I will bore them.
@joann_marieSo guys, follow him and follow also Ian and Rabbi and Derek and everybody here. So no, it was such a great space. Thank you so much, Tommy.
Ian MalcolmIt was. And so we'll wind this down. We will fire up the next conversation, a space that's going to be specific to Derek, who's up here with us. I see Matt Baker in the audience who just put together an unbelievable song. And so I'll tell you what, Joanne, maybe instead of name that tune, if you could, why don't we get Matt Baker's song?
Ian Malcolmlined up and we can fire up the space with Derek with that tune. If anybody has not heard it, we'll put it up into the nest as well. Really wonderful work that he put together. And so lots of love to everybody in case you're not able to join the next conversation that we're going to fire up here momentarily. As always, certainly good morning, good evening, good afternoon to everybody out there.
Ian MalcolmGod bless for everything that you are. Godspeed. We are going to continue winning this information war against these sociopaths, the psychopaths, and the people that want to enslave not only your body, but your mind and your spirit. And so lots of love. We will be speaking with Derek here momentarily. Looking forward to that conversation.
Ian MalcolmAgain, so many thanks to Tommy. Please give him a follow and lots and lots of love and support. God bless everybody.
